Pros:
Beautiful rooms with castle type finishing. Lift..
Walking distance from two metro stations. Ledru rolin and Bastille. Very close to Opera.
Lots of eating options around.
Good connectivity by bus as well.
Main attractions are close..eg Notre Dam about 10 mins by bus

Cons:
Nothing that we didn't like.

Three of us were traveling so we had two rooms. We had read that the rooms were small so we upgraded when we made the reservations and were very glad we did as even the superior room was small. Both rooms had one queen bed. While we do not like a double bed in this case we would have preferred it as the bed took up the entire room. We travel light but it was a challenge getting into our cases and there was no room for them. It is close and convenient to Gare de Lyon. It is also close to tube stations. We did not have breakfast there as there is a small but wonderful bakery just down the street where we had coffee and something for breakfast most mornings.

We booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews, and found it consistent with ratings others had given it. It's within walking distance of the Gare de Lyon (which was essential), but it offers much more than that. The room was clean and cosy, but had a balcony which gave great street views (which we both like). Staff were very friendly, and we'd stay there again.

A very scruffy guy on reception kept us waiting as he could hardly bring himself to look up from is computer when we arrived. And then was hardly welcoming. Room very small. Bed too small for 2 people. Bathroom door would only open far enough to squeeze in as floor uneven. Nowhere to hang towels. Quiet and good location, but otherwise a nasty little hotel.

Paris hotels can be stupidly expensive, so it was great to find a hotel that's comparably cheaper and in a really good location. Our room was clean and modern, but small. There are lots of lovely restaurants and bars nearby. Check out Le China round the corner if you get a chance - it has two bars (they hold gigs in the basement bar) and a restaurant over 3 floors. The hotel is only a few minutes walk away from the metro, so it's really easy to get around the city. The staff speak basic English. Don't bother with the breakfast, there are many cafes and bakeries nearby. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Paris.

We recently stayed at St Louis Bastille, actually a Best Western affiliate, (located in Oberkampf neighborhood) and found it's location and neighborhood fun, active, good restaurants and bars. Room was more than adequate with queen size bed (a small hotel luxury!), small but very clean but still in European small style. Very easy walking to Metro station (5 minutes) and reasonable walking distance to almost everything south of Notre Dame, through some great restaurant rows, pubs and shopping. We actually spent an afternoon wand walked from Arc d'Triomphe back to hotel via Champs Elysses, past Louvre and Notre Dame, then over to hotel. Hotel has small reception area but is staffed 24/7. Included breakfast is ample with juices, coffee/tea, fresh breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt. Not huge but adequate. Close cafes were friendly, very multi-lingual, and became a daily stop. We'd return here in a heart beat!

Room Tip: Request street view of plaza.

My partner and I stayed here for one night which was not long enough! The room was small but lovely with a nice view to the central courtyard. The location was perfect for the train to Marseille and being so central it was very quiet. Staff were friendly and spoke basic english which was helpful. I would definitely recommend this one and hope to stay here for longer when we are in Paris next.
