We came to this restaurant with some friends after reading good reviews about it. I strongly advise that you do not contemplate going there. We ordered some fondue with cheese that tasted like processed from the supermarket. The salad was coming out of a packet and was not imaginative at all. We also ordered some fish which was warmed up from frozen with a very poor taste. A friend ordered the lamb which was not cooked.

The service was poor as well with attitude all the way. We complained about the quality of the food but nothing was done to rectify this.

The only nice thing was the crème caramel, which was tasty.

All in all, avoid this place at all cost!

Thank Stephanscott

This little spot was lovingly attended to by the proprietor and what appeared to be family members and a small staff. The food was classic and excellent. Duck comfit beautifully done. Wonderful spot on a wonderful street. Should you be staying in the Comfort Mouffetard, it should not be missed just a few doors down. Other diners seemed to be enjoying fondue tremendously, although it is not my pot of cheese.

We found Au Piano Muet on TripAdvisor some days before traveling to Paris.
It is a really quite and amazing restaurant! The food is excellent here, we tried the Soupe a l'Oignon, the Salade au fois gras as starters, the Canard, Boeuf and some typical mountain food as main dish and the delicious tarte tatin, panna cotta and mousse au chocolate as dessert. Do not mind if you do not speak French as the menu is available also in English.

The price is really convenient especially if you consider that this restaurant is one of the best in Paris. The menu is € 13.50 per person in weekdays, while you spend € 17.50 per person during the weekend (the menu remains the same). We paid € 33.00 (Monday-Wednesday) for two persons' menu and one glass of tasty French red wine. We suggest ordering carafe d'eau instead of the glass water.

There are two kind waiters during the weekend (we guess that one of them is the daughter of the proprietary). They are really kind and helpful.

Au Piano Muet is highly recommended if you are looking for a typical French restaurant with typical, homemade and fresh plats. We are sure to come back here next time!

We found this place just by walking by while searchng for a nice spot to eat a cheese fondue with friends. We waited for a table for 3 minutes and got a nice place inside. Although there was only 1 waitress, the service was good.

The four of us ordered together cheese fondue with mushrooms. The size of the pot was perfect, the fondue tasted great and we had planty of bread. Along with Chabli white wine and the best cream brule so far in out trip, the experince was perfect!!

So many of my favorite spots have been indifferent and touristy, I was a bit worried about this one with a menu in English as well as French. No worries--it was fresh and delicious, simple food cooked well. My friend and I had smoked salmon starter--fresh, citrusy, with a light dill sauce--and a meat & vegetable main dish. My grilled lamb was lean and done perfectly; my friend said her duck confit was perhaps the best ever. Everythihg--wine, appetizer, entree, desert & coffee came to 25 Euro, and the service was pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. I will return on my next trip to Paris and hope it has not changed.
