This is truly a majestic piece of architecture.
You can sense the Phantom of the Opera while walking around the building, and feels just like being in the movie.
Definitely a must see in Paris.

My wife is a rabid fan of Phantom of the Opera, so we went to see the Palais Garnier as visitors to the building rather than going to see an opera. It was a bit of a one trick pony. Once you have seen the staircase, that about it, as beautiful as it was. The mirrored hall was closed off for a function and the auditorium for rehearsals, although I did sneak in to take a few photos of the ceiling before being chased out by an over-officious woman. The shop was good (aren't they always - ker-ching), but overall for me disappointing. My wife just loved being there! Shame about the pickpockets and Roma beggars all around the theatre.

A really beautiful building, with it's over-the-top style and elegant artwork. It's also located in a very nice neighborhood.

This place left me speechless, it is a must for Paris, what glory! what splendor! Gold everywhere!!! statues paintings marble it was wow everywhere. We wandered through the amazing architecture and art. we payed for these blue tooth cordless audio guides that we used with an ipad which was really cool and that talked us through the place, I loved the huge stair case that is famously known for phantom of the opera. the theatre room itself was very royal and the phantom box was really cool. it is really a wonderful place to visit and was one of the most memorable places we saw in Paris.

Beautiful, unique venue. Fun to tour just after seeing Phantom in London. Do not miss this attraction while in Paris. We got our tix online directly from the Garnier Opera House and took the audio tour. Could imagine French society at splendid opera and ballet theatre. Magnifique!!
