“Best impression from Paris”
Reviewed 5 October 2013

If you want to feel the real atmosphere of Paris, Domingo Rooms is the best choice! Nice rooms, each of them has a fireplace and access to the balcony. Domingo, the owner, has a great taste in decor, it seemed like all pieces of the interior were in exactly right place. I also liked jazz quietly playing 24 hours in the living room, boheme! Free and fast wifi is also big plus. Location is perfect, close to the walking street where you can go for restaurants or just pick up croissant in the morning. Easy to get from airport and easy to get all sights. Highly recommended!

Even though Domingo wasn't well, he made sure we had a comfortable stay. The best part is its location, it is in the centre of Paris.
We would definitely like to go again. Though the bathroom was a bit uncomfortable

We had the pleasure of staying with Domingo last August. It was the warmest weekend that year, and we really enjoyed having one long balcony filled with flowers around our corner room. We sat there in the morning with our espresso coffee and homemade bread looking over to the centre Pompidou. Just amazing. Domingo was hospitable, home when we arrived, and we could have our sutecases until 16.00 on our day of departure. Super service. It isn't a fancy room, but it was a wonderful experience to be staying in our "own" apartment in the middle of Paris.

This place is in a great location. In the heart of Marias district, 10 minute walk to Les Halles which is the main hub for the Metro and RER train system, 15 minute walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre, and River Seine. Its about 1 hour walk to the Eiffel Tower or 15 minutes by bike or train. When we arrived Domingo was away but he organised for us to drop our bag of early in the morning with another resident of the building. Domingo was warm, friendly and helpful about all things Paris. If you are looking at staying here it is not the Hilton Hotel, but its clean, homely and big enough to call home in Paris for a few days.

The location is very good - this cannot be denied. The price is also very good for Paris - i.e. it is very expensive but less so than some other places.

The stay is incredibly uncomfortable though and for this reason we would not stay again.

This is not a hotel - it is a flat in which the owner lives and rents out a few rooms. This is fine but he treats it as his home which he has the inconvenience of others staying in.

The bedroom doors do not lock and when you are not in the room he wants the door to be left open - so there is absolutely no privacy. Whatsmore, the bathroom was not well cleaned and there were stains on the bedsheets.

It does not exactly make for a romantic weekend away in Paris.

We felt that Domingo Rooms was like a home in Paris rather than a hotel. The atmosphere was relaxed and the accommodation warm, spacious and comfortable. Domingo was away when we arrived but his friend Jean Paul was there to meet us and provide us with friendly and helpful information. The bedroom was a great size for Paris and we had our own bathroom also a good size and a lovely plant filled balcony high above the busy street. At night the double glazed windows meant it was quiet for sleeping. We had access to a great lounge and breakfast supplies in the kitchen. The WiFi worked well throughout the apartment. The location was unbeatable close to almost all the important sites you might want to visit either by walking or the metro less than a minute's walk away. The Marais area is vibrant and full of fantastic places to buy food or eat out. After a day spent tramping and exploring the streets of Paris coming back to Domingo Rooms and relaxing to music in the spacious lounge was just fantastic. Do yourself a favour and immerse yourself in the experience of sharing a local's home by staying in Domingo Rooms.

Room Tip: The first room is very spacious and quiet.

This apartment is very well located for paris and the price is reasonable. Close to the Marais, walking distance from Ille de la Cite and lots of other touristic sites. The welcoming is warm by Domingo, however, to arrange a time of arrival left us feeling bullied into arriving at a time that was convenient for him who did not seem to take notice of the distances we would be travelling before our arrival in Paris. A little bit of flexibility in that respect would be appreciated. We were worried of what type of host we would have after the difficult communication we experienced at first, nonetheless, he is happy to recommend sights and places to eat in the area that are quite OK. We tried to have breakfast in the small kitchen but it is really small and you have to take your plate and coffee/tea and sit in the living room on a sofa. Youghurt and cereals are provided. I suppose it is not an exageration to say that the flat could benefit from a better cleaning. After a first shower we had to ask him to clean the exit of the water in the shower that was blocked. When one lift the cover the sight was sore for the eyes, looked like it had never been cleaned before, or had not been cleaned for a long time. We felt sorry for these aspects as the location is very good but location, it proved, is not everything.

Room Tip: 2 minutes from Centre Georges Pompidou.
