“History, shopping, charm and style - it's all here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

I fell in love with Saint-Germain-des-Pres when I stayed here on Rue Jacob for a couple of nights for a work trip. I only had one afternoon and one evening to spare for sight-seeing/ shopping, and this was just the perfect location for both. The cobbled streets, boutique stores and amazing cafes are simply wonderful. Go out for an early morning stroll to Notre Dame and see the morning light by the river banks. Watch the boulangeries open up, get yourself some croissants fresh out of the oven and have amazing coffee at Cafe de Flore. For shopping, Boulevard Saint-Germain, Rue du Dragon, Rue de Buci and Rue Saint-André des Arts are just a few of the many great places in the area.

“Super fun and vibrant place.”

Great shopping and restaurants. And the shops are not the standard same shops we can get in America. Nothing is worse than flying halfway across the country to then be presented with the SAME shops in Paris.

“Where the rich people hide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

Beside Île Saint-Louis and 16eme arrondissement, this place has a very high money for square meter density. Wonderful stores, charming cafes and the usual Paris bistros. The perfect place to spending your time walking around shopping or just trying to get lost in Paris.

“The whole neighborhood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

The many small, narrow streets, old buildings leaning into. The cafés, the sidewalk restaurants, the cheerful bars and hot clubs at night. The myriad of shops: clothes, shoes, books, anything. The breakfast places: flute, café noir and croissant. The people. The atmos. The whole neighborhood. Here the journey becomes the adventure. Here you'll soak in Paris.
It's a matter of taste, of course, but I prefer this to the Haussmannian grand avenues and polished shopping arcades.
