I may have been over-impressed by Chez Maman because I hadn't eaten a decent vegetarian meal in weeks, but it was also one of the few restaurants near Rue Cler that didn't look like it would cost my entire week's food budget. It is a very small place with just a few tables and chairs and a single waitress. The food is traditional Korean, and features vegetarian maki- vegetarian sushi packed with tofu, pickled things, cucumber, and various other delicious vegetables. Our waitress was inattentive (always, I have been back twice since the first time), but I like not being hovered over in a restaurant. As I said, the prices were reasonable, and it was the only non-pasta/salad vegetarian food I spotted in the entire neighborhood. I love this tiny little place. If I lived in Paris I would eat here all the time. They also do take-out, which becomes an exciting novelty when you are exhausted and just want to go back to your room.
