“Charming, Parisian, Convenient”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

The hotel room was charming and had a lovely Parisian feel. They had clearly put some thought into the look of it.

There were some quirks, which probably couldn't be helped:
Thin walls - we could hear the phone vibrating from the next room.
Miniature room - it's pretty small.
THOSE stairs - only the able bodied need apply. Getting up and down the stairs and into the Lilliputian lift was an Olympic feat.

Other than that, it was charming and lovely, if you can deal with those hassles.

My stay at the New Orient Hotel was perfect. I had a single room with a balcony and it was just like pictured on their website. I loved my room, my comfy bed, my balcony, everything. The staff could not have been more sweet or more helpful either. They even took our luggage up the stairs to their cute little elevator, and then ran up the six flights of stairs to be there when I reached the top. That way he could help get the luggage from the elevator up another small flight of stairs to my room. The hotel's location is great as well. It is across the street from a good size grocery store, and not far from a wonderful little bakery that had delicious bagettes. What I liked most about the hotel's location though was that it was in a quiet neighborhood, but still very close to a metro stop. Made it quite easy to get anywhere in Paris we wanted to go. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. My travel mates loved their room as well, and since we were side by side, we could sit out on our respective balconies and watch the sunset together. Made for a perfect stay. Thank you!!!

Room Tip: Reserve a balcony. It is worth the extra expense.

My wife and I visited Paris for 8 days and we spent every night at this hotel. The owner is an absolute amazing woman and very polite and accommodating. Everything was immaculate and the Hotel was very clean. The neighborhood is perfect as it is within walking distance to many shops, restaurants. The Balcony was fantastic with great views. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. This is the ideal place the relax and see Paris.

We arrived at the hotel in the morning, as we had just flown in from the States. No problem--the man at the desk called to housekeeping and our room was ready within 15 minutes. This level of service and accommodation continued throughout our stay. The staff did everything they could to be helpful, and were always friendly with a warm welcome after our long days of sight-seeing.

Our room was small, but since it is an older, traditional Parisienne building, we knew it would be. Our daughter stayed in a room down the hall. Her room was extremely small, but fine for one person.

Our room had floor-to-ceiling doors leading to a small balcony. They were very picturesque, but the street was too noisy for us to keep the doors open at night. There were lots of motorcycles roaring down the street. They disturbed me, but not my husband. Our daughter's room faced a courtyard so she didn't hear them at all. I loved standing on the balcony and looking across the street at the other buildings. It felt so. . .French.

The hotel is in a perfect spot--many bakeries nearby to buy our morning croissants, and within walking distance of three Metro stops and the St. Lazare train station. It felt very safe, so we were comfortable walking off the rich dinners we ate every night.

We chose the hotel based on reviews on TripAdvisor and other sites, the location, and the cost of having to book two rooms for several nights in such an expensive city. New Orient lived up to our expectations, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, charming hotel at a (relatively) reasonable price.

Room Tip: The rooms in the front have balconies and are very charming. The street is very noisy, however.

The stay was excellent. The location was convenient (about 5 - 7 mins walk to the St. Lazare station and about 3 mins to another Metro station on the Northwest end of the block). There is a grocery/mini-market across the street so it was convenient to get refreshments (bottled water and a bottle of wine :) ) We were very pleased we got a balcony facing the non-busy street to enjoy the bright mornings.

The staff members was friendly. I had a chance to talk to Catherine W. (see the other reviews) before my wife and I checked-out of the hotel and headed out of France. She was very friendly.

I would recommended to anyone that asks where to stay in Paris.

Room Tip: Choose a private balcony if you staying in the summer. There is a small table and chairs there so y...

This is a lovely Hotel situated between Montmartre and Champs-Elysees just a short walk from Villiers Metro. Staff very friendly and helpful, we didn't have breakfast but had coffee and beer at the Hotel. Our room was situated overlooking the main road on he 5th floor with a balcony. Room has table and chairs, comfortable bed, shower and bathroom very good. A/C. The only fault for the room was the lack of plug sockets.

There is a good supermarket opposite the Hotel. We did eat in the Publisher which is a bar restaurant some 50 60 yards away. Nice Bar friendly staff recommend the Fish and Chips and 1664 Blanc beer with Lime. The Hotel is ok to visit some of the sights we walked to Sacre Couer which was only 30 minutes. We also walked from our Hotel through Parc De Monceau, too Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysees onto Place de la Concorde and then Jardin Des Tuileries and Lourve ( A classic walk taking in some of the main sights). Even crossed over Ile de le cite and Notre Dame.
Don't worry if you do not like walking the Metro is excellent and the hotel is well served by Villiers metro and Europe Metro. There are also three Boulangeries nearby where you can try purchase food and coffee and eat in or take away

Room Tip: pick a room with a bacony

Wonderful hotel! We arrived at the hotel around 10 am and they let us into the room early, which was great because we were tired from traveling all night. We had the family room, which was kind of small, but comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful; they gave us advise on where to eat and how to get around Paris. I couldn't recommend the hotel more!
I liked the location - a quiet safe neighborhood near several metro stops.
