We stayed there in late October, 2013. To be sure, rooms are compact, as befitting an establishment that's been around for quite a few years. I'm pushing the memory capacity, but I think it goes back to the 19th century. It's in a great neighborhood in terms of restaurants, retail and two Metro stations nearby. Le Mouffetard is within easy walking distance and provides some Rive Gauche élan. Front desk staff a good, ready source of directions and Metro information. Yes, we would return there.

Room Tip: A room with a balcony/terrace is preferable.

OMG, the bedroom was so small that we could NOT open the bathroom door, because it bumped on the bed, besides the window opened to an indoor "courtyard" which echoed all the sounds from the other rooms...location fine - not the best, close to Notre Dame, for sure, but everything else either you take the train or w a l k , which is ok, walk in Paris is a must.

Room Tip: I would not go back, location and price - if I did a little more research I would be better in the o...

Fantastic location a short walk from Notre Dame - Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly all around. I agree with the other comments re the thin walls, also the pillows were missing and in their place we had a double bolster cushion, we didnt get around to addressing this while were there, but am sure alternatives would have been offered had we asked.
I would definitely recommend the Familia and re-visit in the future.

Unique, very French and romantic hotel. Rooms are small but clean and we had a wonderful view overlooking Paris chimney pots and the spire of Notre Dame. The elevator saved us the long climb to the top floors. The staff helped us with maps, airport transportation and local sites. They were warm and gracious hosts that made my first trip to Paris special.

Room Tip: Ask for a view, but our friend who was traveling with us had a much larger room and bath that made u...

We had a wonderful stay at hotel familia and would highly recommend it. The bed was comfortable and the room was decorated so beautifully. We got a great rate on the Internet. The hotel is in a fantastic location. The only down side, and it was a significant down side is the very, very thin walls. We were next to a couple having sex at 2 am each night, which for the first 5 minutes is hilarious but quite awful after an hour of it! :-) especially night after night. Other than the walls this hotel is perfect but take ear plugs !

Delightfully cute hotel in a great location, close to everything.

The room was on the small side but that's to be expected and the breakfast was a little disappointing as they only served bread and a croissant. I recommend heading next door to the American Cafe for a huge and cheap breakfast (for those travelling on a budget).

The beds were comfortable and it had a nice view and the bathroom was nice and clean. I would recommend staying here but my only comment would be look for a good rate, as nice a hotel it is - it's a little pricey for what you get.

A word of warning - the walls are extremely thin. You will here everything going on in the rooms next door and unfortunately for us we were next to a baby that cried all night for the first few nights.

This is our second time staying at the Familia and we were not disappointed. Our room (designated "superior" was on the 4th floor, on the interior side and was a nice size, comfortable and quiet. It had a couch, which we used for our suitcases, along with a small closet. The bathroom was clean and well-appointed.
The staff was friendly and very helpful – even printing our boarding passes for us. The dining room staff and the housekeepers were also pleasant and helpful.
The location could not be better – near metro stops, buses, walking distance to Notre Dame, gardens and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Paris.

Room Tip: "Superior" room is worth the extra 10 euro.
