Our recent stay at the Hotel Delambre was, as ever, a delight; the rooms are comfortable and
clean, the location superb--quiet, yet filled with literary and historical associations. The staff--
and again, we have stayed at this hotel several times-- is welcoming, warm and helpful. We
look forward to returning yet again. Also, we must add this: those who manage the Delambre
deserve special mention--in particular Patrick and Jean Paul; these two gentlemen have
from the start treated us with the greatest consideration. Both know and love their city, and
are happy to offer useful advice and suggestions regarding the latter. In Paris, the Hotel
Delambre is the place to be!

I love this hotel and its neighborhood, which I have known and loved for many years, I will always stay here when I can! The atmosphere is friendly and the hotel is pleasant and clean. I've never had a bad experience here, If you are an older person, the neighborhood provides everything you need, including two nearby metro stops and frequent busses.

Room Tip: Get one on the street unless you are a very light sleeper--the view of Paris life on the rue Delambr...

What a pleasant surprise to arrive to Paris to stay in a small but clean room. The amenities were superb and the staff friendly. HOWEVER (due to sleeping in through an alarm) my boyfriend and I had to leave the hotel early in the morning without checking the safe. Inside was 350 euro cash. When we called the hotel and they checked the safe they said they found nothing. Either the staff or the maids had something to do with the theft of that cash. This left a bad taste in our mouths about the hotel but were still pleased with the room and price. My advice is to watch your things closely and enjoy the cleanliness and location of the hotel. Great Japanese and crepes very close by!

Dear Sir,
We understand that after leaving the hotel you realized that you missed 350 €. You have inferred that the hotel staff stole this money.
It is very serious accusations without evidence. We have responded by e-mail that your room safety box was open and empty after your departure. I am the only person in the hotel able to open a safety box locked by a guest. We take note of your statement, but without more details, we regret , we cannot make any othe response to this event.
Sincerely yours.
Patrick KALMY, Hotel Manager.

We simply loved everything about this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms, though small, are very well appointed and the bed was quite comfortable. We appreciated the clean and quiet location. Access from the Metro is awesome...it's just around the corner from Edgar Quinet and there are multiple restaurants within a few minutes walk. Also a great Saturday market if you're there. Some have commented on the breakfast being a bit pricey and maybe it was but if we returned we'd still eat there. The food is very good, hot and fresh and a good variety. There was plenty of hot, fresh, and very tasty brewed coffee which we greatly appreciated. It was a great start for us each day. We hope to return to Paris and we would not consider staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the street and we were a bit nervous about noise the first night. The neighborho...

I have stayed at the Hotel Delambre several times over the past few years and have always received the same superb service from everyone - Patrick, Jean-Paul, Veronique & all the staff at the hotel. They are efficient, friendly and helpful (also fluent in both English & French). The hotel is located in a 'residential' district of Paris, and is situated very close to several tourist sites such as the Tour Montparnesse (recommended to take the elevator to the 56h floor on a clear day or night to see all of Paris) and the Jardin Luxembourg (get a baquette at the Patisserie Odessa - just around the corner from the hotel on rue de odessa & a bottle of wine from the wine store across the street from the hotel (they will uncork the bottle for you) and sit on the chairs in the jardin or beside the pond adjacent to the palais). A 'must eat at' restaurant is La Plomb du Cantal (left out of the door of the hotel & 100 metres up the street on Rue La Gaite) - try their specialty Cantal sausage & Aligot (creamy mashed potatoes with garlic) served in traditional style. They also have amazing salads - the Salate Oceane is packed with smoked salmon, prawns & an assortment of fresh garden vegetables. Around the corner from the hotel on Rue Montparnesse are a number of traditional creperies - I highly recommend the Creperie Bretonne at 56 rue du montparrnasse, a family owned restaurant, serving traditional buckwheat galletes (savory crepes) and delicious sweet (white flour) crepes. They also make their own cider - definitely worth trying to enjoy the entire dining experience. On Blvd Montparnesse there is the famous La Coupole restaurant where many famous artists & painters gathered in the early 1900's - it is very expensive to eat here but the seafood platters are a treat for a special occasion. La Rotonde also on Blvd Montparnesse is where Coco Chanel began her singing career in Paris; it is also expensive to eat here or you can have a café on the patio to experience the atmosphere. If you like ice cream, you must have a cone at Amorino; it is authentic Italian ice cream which they artistically form the ice cream in the shape of a rose on top of the cone - they are located on the corner of Gaite just across from the entrance to the Edgar Quinet Metro. The Marche Edgar Quinet occurs from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Wednesday & Saturday; there are a variety of merchants selling everything from veggies, olives, and bbq chicken to jewelry, purses, men's shirts, shoes, etc. - it is a true local market that illustrates the culture of Paris - take your time to wander up and down the market - it's a realistic Parisienne experience! There are several metro stations in the immediate vicinity of the hotel: Edgar Quinet (No. 6) Vavin (No. 4) and Gaite (No. 13) that will take you to any other tourist sites in Paris; the Gare Montparnesse is also located within a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel (this is the train station where you get the SNCF that takes you to Palais Versailles). The rooms are cute, well maintained & reasonable priced for a hotel in the heart of Paris.

This was our second stay at the hotel and we once again thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are attractive, with wi-fi, cable TV, air-conditioning and clean, modern bathrooms. The staff is knowledgable and helpful. The hotel is located on a relatively quiet street filled with restaurants and specialty stores and is only a block away from main streets and the Metro.

A very nice place to stay. Near the Latin District in Montparnasse near Luxembourg Gardens. Clean, safe, so much around it (cafes, shops, grocery store, weekly open air market Wed. and Sat., metro stations, Montparnasse Tower). Reasonably priced. Staff very helpful and friendly. Especially Veronique. She answered email questions before we arrived, while were there and even got us back to the hotel when we were lost. Very patient.
