“My favourite one”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2013

I keep returning to this area, experiencing all that has to offer: from sitting in a cafe avoiding the 'mad' French men to relaxing in a little park, staring at the demonstrators or shopping for clothes or cakes in the numerous places off this major Parisian route.

The best place in Paris.

“Alive and electric”

This is a great boulevard to walk and explore. Lots of the major French stores are located here so it is a must see. During the week is a little less hectic, however Saturday is just madness with people everywhere!

“Great Shopping boulevard”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2013

My wife and I found St. Germain by accident and were surprised to find that the boulevard was lined with amazing shops - clothing, chocolate, shoes, jewelry and some inexpensive restaurants. Much better than the Champs or hoping to come across the occasional retail 'find' on a side street.

“Pleasant and affordable area of Paris”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013

I stayed at a French hotel chain (ACCOR group) close to La Sorbonne in the St. Germain area in May 2007 (not 2013). Not that far from the main Paris attractions. Plenty of restaurants, etc. Always a park nearby in Paris.and of course the Paris subways are very good. Also close to the Marais district. So just walking around is fun and interesting for the first time visitor. And as i recall i walked to the train station and hopped on a train straight to the airport (but had a difficult time getting my suitcase through the turn styles. Some French guy helped me through it. But there are also buses which run to the airport.
Eating in France, specially Paris, is not cheap for tourists. And yes they have a Mcdonalds, where you could eat legitimate French fries :). But do you REALLY want to go there? Lots of ATMs around. Hotel staff are usually helpful. Learn a few simple French phrases....it goes a long way.
Paris is a beautiful city - enjoy it.
