I know the 6th well and have stayed in several similar hotels over many years. It's a charming area of Paris, full of vivacity and people walking around since many of the streets are closed to cars some of the day.
European friends recommended this hotel, where I have often had breakfast or coffee, so when my girlfriend and I went there over New Year's we researched it well. The price was easily €100 lower than the competition, and now I understand why. The rooms are indeed small. I was not as lucky as a previous commentator in that room 62 is obviously not room 61. We had about 18 inches on 2 sides of the comfortable bed and a generally slow ride up the elevator to the 6th floor. Nice view over Paris roofs.
However, this room and possibly others in the hotel suffers from a singular design flaw in that the bathroom is simply too small. The shower has no curtain or door, and water easily sprays out of the bathroom onto the bedroom floor. Quite unacceptable in my view, but then at €185 how much time do you spend in the bathroom or walking around the bedroom anyway?
Very courteous and helpful front desk in the morning or late evenings, bar available when returning from a night on the town, super good location in its neighborhood.
Might do it again but would insist on a full bathroom.
