“Enjoyable stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2012

Shangri La in Paris is a beautiful hotel with nice rooms, nothing out of the ordinary though. The location is excellent as it is a walking distance away from the main attraction of the Eiffel Tower. We found the atmosphere of the hotel a bit gloomy and whilst it is a beautiful hotel we were not overly impressed. The concierge service was excellent in helping us making dinner & show reservations. On the day we arrived i called them after 6pm to ask if they could arrange a cake, balloons, flowers and champagne to be sent the next morning as it was my husbands birthday, given that it was such late notice i didnt think they would manage to get everything but they exceeded my expectations and everything was lovely, especially the flowers. I liked this hotel and it was an overall good experience. We would have loved to try out the spa but at the time of our stay it was still under construction.

If you're holding the folding, and don't mind spending it on a hotel, then there is little better to spend it on than the Shangri-La in Paris. Sumptuous rooms, impeccable service, great food, all at an eye-watering price. Who cares, if you're on expenses?

Wonderful location oppo the tower, beautifully refurbished building blending French design with Far Eastern touches and furniture.Comfortable spacious rooms with lovely bathrooms ,everything has been thought about and addressed very carefully.Staff are just welcoming, warm, helpful and friendly without going OTT.( none of this "have a nice day rubbish ")As it is relativley small hotel, less than 100 rooms ,is has a homely boutique feel to it especially in the guest areas.
Will always use on my return to Paris.Cant wait for the pool to open late 2012

We were fortunate enough to organise our wedding cocktail, dinner and party at the Shangri-La in Paris. Cecile, the Events Sale Manager, was extremely flexible in accommodating our various (many!) needs and requests and helped us to make this a truly unforgettable experience. Even as we had additional requests in the days and hours before the wedding ceremony, she was always extremely available, kind and responsive. It certainly made us feel that our wedding was in safe hands. As we live abroad, it was crucial to have such a great professional taking care of everything. We were touched by her commitment, as shown during the preparation period as well as during the big day itself.

As for the venue, the different function rooms were simply gorgeous. The staff did a terrific job throughout the day (especially thanks to Ingrid and her team). Our guests were wowed not only by the unbelievably delicious food and the museum-like setting, but also the quality of the service. We felt that the whole event could not have been more perfect.

To come back to the food, we had the opportunity to do a tasting dinner one week before the wedding in one of Shangri-La's restaurants. Again, outstanding service and great, great, great food.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights. They very kindly upgraded us to a stunning duplex suite with, we believe, the best view in Paris and a very large terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Again, service was impeccable throughout the entire stay (in-room breakfast in such setting is a real treat). It was a bit difficult to go back to the real world after having spent three days in such heavenly environment.

If you are considering organising your wedding in a hotel in Paris, we would strongly recommend Shangri-La for its sheer beauty as well as its flawless service. We visited all major hotels in Paris before finally discovering Shangri-La (as they had just opened). For us, it was an obvious choice.

We hope to return to Shangri-La Paris for our anniversary.

Room Tip: We loved the Eiffel Duplex Terrace Suite!

Recently had the opportunity to sample some of the best-reputed hotel products Paris has to offer--a stunning selection at some pretty stunning prices. The Shangri-La was far and away the winner: superb location, fantastic staff and service and unquestionably the very best room with a view (and fabulous terrace) in Paris, Suite 306. This property is luxurious and comfortable, but fresh, bright and modern as well. The understated Asian touches--green tea on check-in--make a real difference. And while price range of luxury hotels in Paris may be wince-worthy, the Shangri-La was the only one of the lot that felt like value for money. A great experience and to be highly recommended for a special experience in Paris.

We travel on a regular basis and typically stay at American Express fine hotels. Shangri-La was not on the Amex list, but it certainly should be! This was by far the finest hotel experience we have ever had. This hotel should be Number 1 in Paris! As an accountant and number cruncher at heart, I realized that the newness of the hotel and thus few reviews is why it is currently Number 82. It won't take any time for this hotel to rise to the top!

The staff was amazing, especially the concierge desk. They could not have been more helpful or friendly. Each day the helped us with an itinerary and reservations, and often had a complimentary car take us to dinner. The time they took explaining the map actually made me familiar and comfortable traveling ourselves throughout Paris. Keep the map on you, because this is a very new hotel (Dec 2010) and several cab drivers have never been there. (the hotel address is on the front of the map)

The rooms are gorgeous and the Eiffel views are incredible. Our room 306 was a Duplex Terrace Suite facing the Eiffel. We could see the beautiful tower from bed! Loved the heated floors in the bathroom too. There was a nice fruit arrangement always available.

We found the property is in a very easy spot for traveling the city. We walked several days and also became familiar with the bus lines and metro with great ease.

Our first night the concierge desk got us in to the Jules Verne, the posh restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Eiffel Tower. This was impressive, as they can have a 3 month advance reservation list! It turned out to be a very lucky thing for me as we got engaged there that night!

Be sure not to miss the Shang Palace. It is a newly opened Cantonese style dining in the hotel and very fine food and service. It was our last meal in Paris and was lovely.

My wife and I spent our 25th anniversary here, and ir was probably the best time of our lives.

We were upgraded to a lovely two-story suite with a cozy terrace and. Views of the city.everything was pristine and in perfect order.

Location is good, just down the street from the Eiffel Tower, and walking distance to all the big tiurist site in Paris.

Staff was efficient and friendly, everyone very welcoming, although young. English is spoken widely if your French is not too strong. We especially liked the little tray of pastries and cakes left in our rooms every afternoon.

Other amenities - Internet, tv,etc - were as you'd expect in this class hotel. They even arranged hosted VIP airport transfers both ways, saving us at least an hour each way.

Of course, all the luxury doesn't come cheap, and our weeklong stay was over 15000 Euros. Still, although ridiculously expensive, I have to say it was well worth the price.
