I recently spent a long weekend in Paris and chose the Shangri La as a base, due to my great experiences of the brand in Asia. After a trying few weeks, I was in great need of a quiet sanctuary and a well-located base for gallery visits and shopping trips. I was not disappointed...from the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding and the staff welcoming and caring. I very much enjoyed the ambiance in La Bauhinia restaurant for dinner (maybe because it re-created my Asian experiences) and also had an excellent light meal in the bar one afternoon. The fitness centre was smaller than I expected, but I had it to myself most days and I am looking forward to enjoying the new swimming pool during my next visit in the spring. Although the hotel is in a quiet area away from the main tourist spots, I found it very easy to get around by public transport and taxi. My grateful thanks to the manager and team for all there efforts to make the hotel a great experience.
