Shangri La? Not quite but getting close.
My husband and I have just spent three very pleasant nights here. Our room (Premier) was beautiful, quiet and clean, although I was a little disappointed there was no sofa for seating as featured in the promotional room video. I wasn't too bothered that we had no balcony or Eiffel Tower view either as the room was large, light, airy and quiet which for us was more important.
You just have to step outside to appreciate the location of this hotel. Amazingly free of traffic and noise, a 3 minute stroll to the river, metro and facilities. We walked 5 mins to the Eiffel Tower, where riverside we boarded the River Bus. The tickets also access open top tour buses. Recommended by the concierge these 2 day hop on/off tickets were outstanding value and excellent for easily getting around - stress free and relaxing when the feet get tired.
The concierge service was outstanding. Visit tips, last minute difficult dinner reservations made, shows booked and the hotel limo made available. We have never experienced better service in this department. Having the concierge make the booking certainly paid off - being seated at the best tables.
Noticing a previous comment; each cabaret show format was fully explained in a very professional manner by the concierge, which we appreciated. BTW The 'Crazy Horse' show is not a 'strip show' believe me. I'm a very conservative 51 year old mother of two grown up daughters and I would be happy to take them along. The show uses lighting/lighting effects brilliantly. It really is artistic, beautifully choreographed and a celebration of the female form. 'Genuinely a lot of fun! Rude only if you can't take nudity I suppose...
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this historic hotel. The decoration of Roland Bonapart's house is stunning and the restoration must have been some project! It was a pleasure just to view this grand house.
All members of the staff were courteous and efficient - just the ticket!
The cocktail enjoyed just prior to departure was one of the best ever.
Thank you all; we will stay again.
