“great location”
Reviewed 22 September 2009

Great little privately owned hotel under the Best Western flag, brilliantly centrally located within walking distance of nearly all the attractions and with great metro stations just outside the door Concorde & Madeline lots of good resturants cafe's in the vacinity.
I would recomend the cafe on the end of the street at the end of the hotel and Marmite brasserie near the Pigelle metro nr the moulin rouge.
The rooms were cleaned daily and made up daily to a very good standard all the hotel staff were friendly and courteous, good value for money in Paris.
Very small downside you could hear the faint sound of metro beneath especially in the night when its quite, didnt effect our stay at all just made us laugh in no way would it prevent us from returning.

We did a lot of research to find this hotel as I was traveling alone with a small child and wanted a safe convenient place. It delivered. It is right near historic Madeleine Cathedral which is a great landmark to help find the hotel since Paris is huge and can be confusing. It is 3 blocks from all things tourist which is great, as that was what we were doing. We walked to Louvre, Place de Concorde, Champ d Lysee, Arc de Triumph, Musee D'Orsay and Jardin D'Tuileres. It is also 2 blocks from the metro and 3 blocks from the Roissey Bus that is the cheapest and safest way to go directly to and from the airport. We pulled luggage the 3 blocks and it was definitely worth the 60 Euros we would have spent on a taxi.

The staff at the hotel all speak English. The daytime staff (all women) are fabulous and helpful and helped us find everything. One of the ladies even bought my daughter a gift after we had been there a week. The male night time staff is nice enough, but not particularly helpful. He would be useless without the internet.

The hotel is extremely clean and the daily maid service was fabulous. The hotel is small. Small room, small hallways and small elevator. But that is apparently typical for Paris and who stays in their room anyway.

The room has a lovely bathroom and huge floor to ceiling windows that open. We were on the 3rd floor and slept with the windows open every night. It was wonderful. The bed is the one drawback. It was hard and firm. I was wanting a pillow top mattress. But it did not seem to matter, because I slept like a log every night. The place is small and quiet and although it was full, we often felt we were the only ones there.

By far the best thing about this hotel is location. It is the best location you'll get for the cost. I highly recommend this hotel for those who want the taste of downtown Paris and want to walk to all things tourist.

Oh, and our favorite Restaurant by far was Chez Flottes two blocks away. Fabulous authentic french cafe with friendly staff and reasonable prices. Our Hotel desk clerk recommended it and she was right.

We just returned from a three night stay at this great little hotel. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite, with comfortable beds and a large bathroom with shower and separate tub. The art deco ffurnishings are a nice touch and the housekeeping services are top notch. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. As everybody else has mentioned the location is fantastic, close to many attractions like the Louvre and and the Tillorie Gardens and an easy metro ride to others from two nearby stations.. This gem of a hotel on a short little stree off Rue Honore is a great deal in a city where good prices are few and far between. I highly reccomend The Best Western Premier Opera Richepanse!

It's hard not to smile when thinking of a visit to Paris, and then having the luck to pick this hotel. It is within a 1 minute walk from Madeline Metro, and 5 minutes from Concorde Metro. The Madeleine church is a block away, Place de la Concorde and the Jardin Tuileries 5 minutes walk. And yet the street is quiet. What more could you want?

Besides being 10-15 minutes walking distance to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, the Champs Elysees, Lafayette and Printemp department stores, around the corner from theFauchon luxury food emporium and Laduree macaroon store, it is also just off Rue St. Honore with all it's designer labels and a short walk from Rue Vendome! Great during sales season, but dangerous at any other time. More practically there is a Monoprix convenience store just around the corner open till late, which also stocks sandwiches and tins of foie gras (unethical, yet so tasty...).

The hotel staff was excellent, as everyone else has noted. We arrived after 24 hours of flying at 10am, and our rooms were already prepared (grateful, but unexpected). Check in and check out was easy. The desk staff helpful with maps and directions, and assistance to the airport. The breakfast staff were pleasant. All the desk staff spoke good English, which should rightly embarras all us monolinguals.

The rooms were pretty standard, but a good place to sleep. Every now and then you did feel the rumble of a passing metro beneath the hotel, but it certainly didn't wake us from sleep or cause any disturbance. It was almost comforting to know that this hotel was not completely perfect! During humid weather the air conditioning was under powered, but the huge windows all opened to allow air in. The bathroom was of adequate size, and the shower had good water pressure. There was a standard room security safe. Although there were not enough free electrical sockets, there was a powerboard with universal (international) sockets.

Breakfast was basic, but reasonably priced (for Paris), and offered reliably cooked and cold food and pastries. Omelettes and espresso coffee is included in the price, but on request. The food was certainly enough to keep us going most of the day.

The cost was very reasonable.

We would definitely stay there again. In the heart of Paris, great staff, great price. Loved it!

From the moment we arrived, could not fault it. Best location in Paris, 2 minutes walk to most of Paris's attractions and monuments as well as a great sight seeing tour. Staff made the hotel the most memorable. They were so helpful during our entire stay and always had time to assist us. Rooms are beautiful and so clean. We didn't have a single issue during our whole time in Paris.

This is a beautiful Art Deco hotel located in a great location. The lobby and rooms were absolutely gorgeous! We had a triple (which is hard to find) and had plenty of space. The staff were very helpful and accomodating throughout our stay. We would definitely stay at this hotel again! There is a nearby metro stop as well as several restaurants. A word of warning though DO NOT go to the restaurant on the corner-Les Tres Quartiers-the very friendly waiter lured is in for an overpriced meal with terrible service. He basically lured people in and then "bullied" them into ordering more than what they wanted. We watched two familes leave because of this treatment. Since we were tired and hungry and had already ordered we were stuck. The food was ok but definitely not worth the price and treatment by this waiter. We did not see this anywhere else in Paris.

Paris is not cheap and this is a 4 star hotel. The breakfast room is small but breakfast ample and on a par with eating in one of the cafe's. We travelled with my 87 year old mother and my sister. My mother can no longer walk very far and used a wheeled walker the staff always on hand to help, after the first night knew who we were. The room was spacious plenty of room for 3 adults with seperate bathroom and toilet and all beautifully clean.Due to location the hop on hop off bus stop just a stones throw, the staff booked the river trip with dinner for us on the second night and when we came down to book a taxi it had already been booked for us and when we returned they asked if we had enjoyed it and the reception staff next day. This hotel is small and makes you feel that you and your enjoyment of your stay is important to them. Prices for food etc around this area are high but you are staying in an area roughly equivalent to Knightsbridge in London. We had a wonderful 3 day stay
