“Airplane Lobby Motif”

This hotel in Paris is on a quiet street, not the best neighborhood but nice and quiet. You need to walk approximately three blocks to the main street and the sidewalks are in disrepair so not user friendly for a wheel chair. The rooms are small but adequate but very clean and COOL. That is a plus as it was extremely hot when were in Paris.
The hotel employees were Extremely friendly and helpful. Decidedly, the best feature was the yummy breakfast! We were served a variety of juices, tea, coffee, cheeses, eggs, bacon, lots of fruit, a variety of croissants and bread for toast.

Room Tip: The beds do not have box springs so are hard. Corner rooms have a lot of light but with the streets...

Pros: We love to travel, so really loved the artsy transportation theme. Especially the clouds in the reception area, and our future pilot was excited about the artsy airline theme in the lobby area. Also liked the mirror that was a tv in the room, though we didn't spend a lot of time watching tv. They had a sunken bathtub too in room 304, a king bed, a great pull out bed (have to see it for yourself), and we had quiet sleeps every night. Wonderful to have the deep bath at the end of the day for our touristing tired feet! Good breakfast everyday with eggs, real bacon, breads, jams, fruits, yogurt, and, orange juice, fresh brewed coffee and hot chocolate (mochas every morning - yah!).

I don't think enough could be said about their friendly staff (assuming you appreciate a staff that goes out of its way to engage you). I watched Greg (I'm pretty sure that is his name) chatting away with a young person who was happily relaying his adventures in Paris during breakfast the one day. I have deep respect for an establishment that can cross over professionalism and friendliness, and while I didn't witness this youth and adult interaction with all staff, all were quick to share useful information about their beautiful city! It is fantastic that they are upscale, but not pretentious. Unusual for the more expensive hotels we have visited in our many travels.

Cons: There was a strong smell of recent smoking by the lift on the third floor on most of the days. Not sure what this was due to, but in a non-smoking hotel it seems to be a glitch in their higher quality system. This was a 30 second problem, really, but still noticeable.

The neighborhood around Rue du Chateau d'Eau was not as nice, but avoiding this area can be done simply by choosing another Metro stop than Chateau d'Eau (taking a right instead of a left out the hotel front door). The street the hotel is on is fine.

This is a great hotel, and we would absolutely stay here again in the future.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our family room was clean, quiet, with much light through the windows (the room was in the corner on the second floor). The hotel is close to a metro station. If you like to walk it it easy to reach many attractions by foot. We used for instance about 40 minutes to the Abbesses on Montmartre and 25 minutes to Louvre.

Enjoyed the modern updates the hotel had recently completed. Had a great family room on the top floor. Easy access to all main facilities in Paris - bus, train & underground. Friendly and very helpful staff. Made for a very easy and comfortable stay in Paris

Stayed here in a quad for one night in June. What a find. A double with a sofa bed which folded out into two singles. The most comfortable fold out bed I have ever seen. Could have easily done a whole holiday on this bed. The rooms are small, but functional with decent sized bathrooms (full sized bathtubs). There was no TV in the room and wifi was extra. Did not make it out in time for breakfast. Excellent english spoken by staff.

The hotel is at the end of a small street and is very quiet, so the nighttime is very comfortable.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am thrilled to read that you were very happy with our comfortable fold-out beds and that you appreciated the location of our hotel on the pretty typically Parisian cobbled-stone side road.

We would like to let you know that Wifi is now completely free (you just need to create your own account at your leisure).

Concerning the television…did you notice the beautiful large mirror on the wall opposite the bed ? This is in fact a state of the art, flat screen, multichannel television, including radios, news updates, weather forcasts...
We are really sorry this was not obvious and following your kind review, we shall make sure we tell our guests all about these services when checking in.

We hope to be able to welcome you back here in the near future so you can experience all the new services we are putting in place to make our guests stay with us a most enjoyable time in our beautiful city.

Warm regards,
Sara Battaggia

Within a 10 minute walk from the Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est and a 3 minute walk from the metro station and Grand Rex cinema/concert hall. Situated in a quiet side street away from the main road. Staff pleasant and very professional. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in, so we left our luggage which was later placed in our room.
Very design hotel.
Good points: Clean, comfortable room with new furnishings. Biggest bathroom I have ever seen in a Paris hotel (it was probably the same size as the bedroom itself). Wood floors (free slippers provided).
Bad points: Our room was at the top of the corridor so we heard all the noisy guests that came down the corridor (bring earplugs) - but that is not the hotel's fault. Very small lift (normal by Paris hotel standards).
We didn't have the breakfast - there is a McCafe and a Starbucks by the metro station.
