You could miss the entrance to the Hotel Westminster at 13 rue du la Paix if your eyes are drawn to the jewelry stores that flank it right, left and across the street includingHarry Winston, Cartier, Boucheron.
Think of the Westminster as a jewel of a hotel. Seemingly small, with an intimate lobby, the hotel rambles far back into the interior of the block with a lovely variety of rooms and decor.
An elegant restaurant serves classic French food in a formal atmosphere. Less formal and equally as inviting in the piano bar which serves lighter fare; it's as comfortable for a single lady to sip champagne, a couple to play backgammon, and, a family to feed children one of the best hamburgers in Paris.
The staff works hard to make one's stay a pleasure. What's more for the speculator location - steps from the Place Vendome and Opera Garnier - it's far more reasonable than many other hotels. It's old world, understated elegance; so if you're looking for hip this is not your place.
We spent 10 days in Paris there ... which is not our style as we like different hotel experiences. And, yes, we would return in an instant.
