Mercure Paris Arc de Triomphe Etoile
Ranked #808 of 1,804 Hotels in Paris
Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

The hotel looks quite new, rooms are small - as in most hotels in Paris - but clean and quiet. Bed is comfortable, bathroom just fine. Very well located near the Arc Triomphe, perfect for business stay in the area. Didn't try the breakfast since you can have it in a cafe around the corner for half the price!

Dear Guest,
We thank you for taking the time to write a review. and share your positive feedback regarding the staff and the hotel. For your future stay, we would suggest you to test the Express & Co breakfast (hot drinks, orange juice, preserve, bread and croissant, not full but cheapest).
Looking forward for the pleasure to welcome you again..

this nice hotel is very comfortable, close to Arc de Triomphe and so ready to start your tours to Paris.
Price is reasonable (high overall, but that is as usual in Paris).
Expect the Mercure standard - so very good.
Beautiful restaurants around (none in the hotel!), close to Champs-Elysees and Metro stations.

Loved how comfortable the bed was, the location of the hotel, the convenience of a supermarket next door, the breakfast buffet and how safe it felt to be there. All the staff, especially the staff during breakfast, were exceptional.

Room Tip: Apparently not all bathrooms have doors. Not very romantic when you're in Paris for your honeymo...

This was my 4th visit to Paris and as it was a trip purely for shopping, eating and hanging out with my best friend, we wanted a hotel that was in a good (safe) location, with easy access to central Paris. The Mercure is just that.

It's within very easy walking distance of two Metro stations (2 minutes and 8 minutes away) and also just 10 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe.

We went for room only, which was wise as the breakfast looked very average and was quite pricey at 15 Euros per person. There were 5 cafes and boulangeries within a 2 minute walk that served lovely food at much less than that - Monoprix next door, Paul's across the road to name a couple.

The room was perfect. Very clean. Very modern. Very comfortable beds, ample hanging and shelf/drawer/table top space for two. Good power shower over the bath tub (slight annoyance was no way to hang the shower head above you). There was no door to the bathroom - i.e. sink and bath/shower. But that wasn't really a problem for us except it was a bit cold while showering. Toilet was in a separate room (with door!!) as they are traditionally in France.

Good selection of tea & coffee with a good sized kettle in the room. Tiny mini bar. Air con and heating that you can control and adjust.

Reception staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

And easy access by taxi (about 15) minutes from Gare du Nord.

I would stay again and would recommend it.

Unbelievable - booked and paid for 2 double rooms 2 months in advance to join another couple for a surprise 50th birthday celebration. Only to be told when we arrived " oh we've been expecting you- there's a problem, we don't have rooms for you. " Seriously?! They had taken our money but not kept us rooms!!!! They got us a room at another Mercure but we were now in a different hotel to the friends we'd come to meet with and we had to walk there with our bags, they weren't even courteous enough to take us there, apologise or sweeten it with a free breakfast. Don't bother with this place!!!!

Dear Guest,
We are really sorry and so confused to learn that you didn’t enjoy your stay in Paris due our unprofessional checking and behaviour. We are always doing our best for all our guests (transfer by taxi due to the relocation). This doesn’t reflect the Mercure services at all. Once again, please accept our apologies and be sure that we took all the correctives actions. We would like again to apologize for misunderstanding and for the incovenience caused. Best regards.
