“Excellent location and good customer experience”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

This hotel is located within 5 minutes walking distance from the Arc de Triomphe, where you may find a metro station and also the open bus which is a good alternative to get straight to the main attractions in case you only have a long weekend to visit Paris. Champs Elysees bvd. starts right from the Arc. You may also walk to Tour Eiffel (like 20-25 minutes) as to enjoy the very nice an cozy streets of Paris. The metro is also offering you very good and fast connections with all the major sightseeing. Must to do are: Louvre, Notre Dame (take a walk on St Germaine bvd. when you are there) , d’Orsay, Invalides (with Napoleon tomb), cruise on Seine and at least for half a day get lost on the side streets of Paris as it is very pleasant and romantic . If you plan your visit early enough my advice is to buy a ticket at Opera or a good theatre rather than wasting money with Moulin Rouge.

The room is large enough and the bed offers very good quality sleep. The room is very modern (including “no door” bathroom ) and it is very quiet during the night. The room is clean, new furniture and well maintained. The breakfast is okish but way too expensive for what you can get (i.e. 18 EUR) considering that you can have a very good breakfast by choosing one of the very nice terraces on your way to Arc de Triomphe. The staff is really friendly and willing to help you so I have enjoyed the services.

Take a taxi from/to the airport as it costs me only 45-50 EUR (it was holiday season that’s right) but I still think that’s the best way to combine comfort and price.

We stayed here for a weekend break. When we tried to check in they said that our room was not ready and to come back in 30mins. We went to get some lunch and then tried to check in again and they said that it will be another 30mins. This was not acceptable as they knew that we were coming and the room should have been ready, and it was after 2pm. Checkout time is 12pm. After asking for an upgrade the room was magically ready!!! The lifts are tiny barely big enough for 2 people and 2 bags but you did get the left when you asked for it, so it makes you think that the hotel was not very busy.

A lot of noises from the air conditioning at night so kept waking up. No English channels on the TV all 40 channels in French. Considering the hotel is aimed at tourists and business people some channels should be in English or have subtitles.

When we checked out the guy asked if we had any breakfast during our stay, he should have known that, so not very professional.

I have travelled a lot and visited many countries and stayed in 4 star hotels, this is definitely not 4 star.

On the plus side, great locations and metro stations near by.

Fantastic location near Ternes and Arc de triomphe. Area has great shops and there's a fabulous bar/restaurant used by locals directly opposite on the corner. Plenty of little bars, patisseries and shops across the road.
Hotel manager- Laurent, went the extra mile on our first day as there had been a mix up with our online booking and was incredibly helpful.
A great base for a visit to the city of love!

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the front of the building! Street noise was NOT an issue!

As others have mentioned this hotel provides a good location - walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Élysées. The room we stayed in on 7th floor was clean, quiet and functional with everything we needed but the quality of fittings and the public spaces was well below 4 star. There is no bar or area to sit during the day. The staff were reasonably helpful. Reminded us of a Premier Inn in the UK which is fine if that's what you are expecting.

The hotel is located 2 blocks away from the Arc de Triomphe, so you have a lot Metro stations, a lot of restaurants from little cafes to those with 2 Stars Michelin.
The rooms are not very big, but is Paris, in the other edge they are very confortable and with great design. The internet works pretty good. We didn't use their restaurant as the breakfast is too expensive, but in the next door you have a good option. We got a great deal with the reservation through their website.

Our corner room on the 7th floor was comfortable, bright & modern. Air-con was cool enough, complimentary wifi was working well, mini fridge and in-room safe deposit box was available in the room as well. The soundproofing in the room was good. Eventhough we had requested for a room facing the main road to watch the world go by, we could hardly hear the cars or people passing by below us. The only thing was that the bathroom/shower had no door, thus no privacy when you shower. It was okay with us as a married couple but I would think otherwise for friends sharing a room together. The WC was seperate from the shower area. Also, there wasn't any wardrobe in the room. The room only had some hangers for you to hang your clothes. Plus the mood lighting which changed colours (there is a switch whereby you could turn it on or off) was a bit strange. It wasn't just our room that changed colours, even the lift corridor also had lights with changing colour. Something different.

Breakfast was nice with various kinds of bread, pastry, ham, cheese, fruits & yoghurt. The staff at the front desk and breakfast area were friendly & helpful.

As it was my birthday, the hotel gave us a small bottle of wine. Thank you, Mercure hotel for the kind gesture!

The nearest metro station Ternes is less than 5 minutes walk. Arc de Triomphe is about 8-10 minutes walk from the hotel. There is a RER & metro station 'Charles De Gaulle Etoile' near the Arc de Triomphe. Monoprix (with a large supermarket at the basement) is just next to the hotel and there are several cafes/bakeries/shops nearby. Paul bakery is opposite the hotel. When we came back to the hotel late one night (10+pm), most of the restaurants/cafes nearby were already closed or only served drinks. The only alternative was fast food which close later, like Mcdonalds around the corner (about 5 mins walk) or Quick burger (8 mins walk).

We took the Air France Le Cars bus Line 2 from the CDG airport. It costs 17 euros per person one way (buy your ticket on board) and the bus stops relatively near the hotel (around 8-10 minutes walk). Stop at the last stop CDG Etoile. Bus journey around 1 hour.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would return again.
