Stayed at this hotel in March 2014 a great weekend to be irish in Paris. The hotel is very good and the staff were very helpful. The receptionist was more then help full he gave us all the information we required to have afab time in the city. Breakfast was not very good and expensive for what you got. They could do with a good irish breakfast but the dining room was very comfortable with great view if you like people watching.. Enjoy our stay at this hotel would go back

We chose the Mac Mahon for its location and reviews on Booking.com. it is reported as a 5* hotel but it is clear from the hotel's signage that it has been recently demoted to a 4* (which is about right).

The staff are friendly and welcoming and the rooms are stylish, clean and well appointed. Our standard room was quite small, which is pretty usual for a city-centre hotel but I would not recommend it for any more than a two-night stay.

The hotel lacks facilities - the restaurant/bar appears to be separate and independent, although there is a connecting walkway - and the lobby area is tiny (barely enough room to pass). This is not a bad thing though given the location but you would expect more for a 5* (or 4*) hotel.

The main problem though is the noise. The walls are paper thin and we were constantly disturbed by slamming doors, clumping heals on the floor above and flushing chains from adjoining rooms. And then there's the night club next door. The hotel is on the corner and if you are unlucky enough to have a room on the Rue de Tilsitt side, expect to be woken at 5am as the nightclub churns their punters onto the street and taxis rally for their business. We are heavy sleepers but there is no double glazing so no escape!

Overall a nice hotel for a couple of nights. Insist on a high room overlooking the Avenue Mac-Mahon and you should be OK; otherwise take your ear plugs.

Room Tip: Definitely go for the upper level and make sure you overlook Avenue Mac-Mahon and not Rue de Tilsitt...

Dear Sir,

First, thank you for your objective comment on your stay with us: we really appreciate it.

The Champs Elysées Mac Mahon has recently become a 5 star hotel. This is a fantastic new challenge for us and we are willing to improve ourselves everyday.

Regarding the issues with the noise, we are aware of the situation with the night club next door: we are dealing with them to find a solution as soon as possible.

Once again, thank you for sharing your impressions.

We sincerly hope that we will have the pleasure to see you again.

Best regards,

Françoise Picard

My wife and I, along with our 14 year old daughter stayed here for two days and wish it had been longer! We were in room 207 which was great for three with a pull out couch, small balcony, and great views of the Arc De Triumph. A very cool hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Special shout out to Fabrice at the front desk who was incredibly helpful. Great location, comfortable, and good people. What more do you need?

Room Tip: 207 if you have three people

As it was a work trip the location was perfect, less than a 5 minutes walk to the office, and meant I could enjoy the sights as well. The staff were polite and attentive and I would definitely stay again.

Honestly enjoyed staying at this hotel. My friend and I stayed for 6 days and had the best time. Room 505 is what I would recommend. Great view of the Arc! Fabrice and Stephanie were great! Tips: hail your cab yourself or take the metro which is right around the corner from the hotel.

Def a fab hotel overall!!!! A bit pricey but what isn't in Paris.

Have just returned from Champs-Elysee Mac Mahon after 3 lovely days in Paris. The hotel was fabulous in every way, the staff was extremely helpful and Stephanie at front desk recommended and booked a lovely restaurant for us and even went as far to print directions on how to get there.Really enjoyed our stay and will return to this hotel on our next trip.
