“Great little hotel, centrally located”
Reviewed 1 February 2006

Got this as a deal with a company called "Great Getaways" off the Internet. We paid £122 each for two nights Bed and Breakfast including return Eurostar from Waterloo. What a bargain. The hotel is spitting distance from the Argentine tube and 2 minutes walk from the Arc de Triumph and Champs Ellyse. The room was quite "snug" but very clean and tidy, good decor, TV, mini-bar and bathroom with robes and toiletries etc. The staff were very friendly and this was the quickest check-in time EVER (30 seconds I think). Nearby are loads of shops and cafes so you do not really have to go to the expense of paying 10euro each for the breakfast which was a basic continental.
All in all, would highly recommend this hotel to anybody wishing to have a central location at a good price with clean and friendly facilities.

This is a small hotel (12-15 rooms) right in the centre of Paris, Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysee are just 5 min away from the main road. All major tourist sites are easily accessible from the Metro station which is just about a minutes walk from the hotel.
We stayed in a standard room which had air-conditioning, satellite TV, hair dryer. The room was kept nice and tidy, but a bit smaller than 3* average - so may not suite couples with children. Staffs were really friendly and helpful.
Hotel serves a minimal continental breakfast. Overall - good value for money without compromising quality right in the centre of Paris. Recommended if you are just looking for a city hopper break without children.

Just stayed 3 nights at this hotel (March 24-27). This is your basic 3 star Paris hotel. The room was clean, but very small, which is normal for Paris. Our room had no air conditioning (225 at 5th floor), (although hotel and Expedia promotion stated otherwise), and had to leave the windows open, which exposed us to the outside noise (so be careful if you reserve for the summer, ask for an inside room). The hotel property itself is very clean. Our room was ready when we arrived at 10:00am which is a plus. The staff was very attentive. The hotel is just a step to the metro (Argentine Line 1), and very near to the Champ Elysees. It is accessible to all mayor Paris attractions. So if hotel price is important to you (we paid $123.00 per night), this hotel is just find.

First of all thanks to the first reviewer who's review helped us choose Centre Ville :)

It was my first time in Paris and it made our long weekend very enjoyable. The big pluses for the hotel are:

1. The hotel is less than a minutes walk to Argentine metro station which is a gateway to anywhere in the city. The metro system was excellent with trains running at every 3/4 minutes even on a Sunday morning :)
2. The rooms were very clean & well kept. Our room was right next to the reception and the sound from people coming and going wasn't bad at all. We had a similar room to the reviewer above that didn't have a shower curtain... Very strange but probably the only negative thing we could say about the hotel.
3. Very friendly hotel staff who all spoke English including Emilio who gave us a lot of helpful tips, dos & don'ts etc etc
4. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but there's a beautiful boulangerie at the street corner outside the metro. It worked out a lot cheaper for breakfast :) And you can everything else in the grocery across the Street.
5. We flew Ryanair and the hotel is 10 minutes walk (with luggage) from the Ryanair bus stop which made it really handy for coming and going over the weekend.

To top it all off we got a brilliant deal on Expedia for three nights for the price of two so we paid €80 per night instead of €120 :)

Hope this helps and I hope you enjoy Centre Ville Etoile

Good value for money. Small hotel, not as fancy as some places, but generally, I find fancy to be a big waste of money. This place gets the basics right, which is all I’m really looking for. Price: At 121 Euros, my room's rate was very reasonable. Room: Quite comfortable. A bit on the small side, perhaps, but…well, that's Europe for you. I've certainly had smaller rooms in Paris—this one was cozy, but not cramped (not for one person traveling alone, anyway). My room had a double bed, which was nice. Bathroom was relatively big, though for some reason there was no shower curtain (made showering a bit messy), and the water pressure in the shower wasn't great (again, not unusual for Paris, I find). My room was immaculately clean, which is always a plus. Only real drawback of the room was the street noise, as my room faced onto the street (personally, I can sleep through anything, so it didn't really bother me, but if you're a lighter sleeper, see if you can get a room on the other side of the building. The view won't be good, but it might be quieter.) Location: 5 out of 5. Rue des Acacias is just northwest of the Arc De Triomphe, between Avenue de la Grande Armee and Avenue Carnot (perfect for accessing the Air France buses to CDG airport, which is a HUGE plus). Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees are an easy stroll away, and the rest of the city is at your fingertips via easy access to the Metro. Argentine metro station (Line 1) is only half a block away (at Avenue de la Grande Armee), and Charles de Gaulle-Etoile station (Metro Lines 1, 2, and 6, RER line A) is only a few blocks away. Hard to get much more convenient than that. Hotel amenities: didn’t really use them. There’s a little grocery store directly across the street where you can get drinks and snacks and stuff, so don’t bother with your room’s mini-bar. I didn’t take breakfast at the hotel, so I can’t vouch for its quality—at 9 Euros, it struck me as a little pricey, so I’d suggest heading for a café or brasserie instead. Hotel staff: no complaints whatsoever. Helpful, friendly, responsive, no problems with the bill or anything. Overall assessment: I’d be happy to come back. The combination of reasonable room size, reasonable price, and excellent location worked for me. Just be aware of street noise--personally, I didn't find it excessive (and, all in all, noise isn't unusual for Paris or any big city!!!), but light sleepers may want to take note.
