“Final contiki hotel”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed here with our contiki group after 8 previous hotels. This one was great! Clean, modern and everything worked well, only negative about the room is it was very small, but it didn't worry us. Our dinner in the restaurant was a 3 course meal and was fantastic, no faults at all. Breakfast was a general European breaky, pastries, meats, cheese, cereals etc. we would stay here again - it's close to two metro stops.

The hotel staff is friendly and nice. The common rooms in the hotel are nice and new; however the rooms in tower A are old, cramped and the air conditioner blows only hot air. They are still renovating so there is room for improvement.

Firstly I shall start with the positives, the hotel is cheap, close to the metro station and the rooms are clean and tidy. It has a comfy bed and a decent shower.

The negatives were the cleaning staff seemed very unorganised, over a stay of 5 nights, the cleaning staff walked into our room twice even when the do not disturb sign was up. One of the times they walked in, my partner was naked. They didn't think to knock before entering and each time seemed to think we were leaving.
The room is tiny. We just ended up living out our suitcases. There's the tiniest space to hang clothes but you'll get about 6 items of clothing hung up if you're lucky. Even then it's positioned behind a tv stand that doesn't move so you have to squeeze in to get your clothes.
I wouldn't call a taxi from the hotel because the taxi driver charges you as soon as they take the call. Our taxi driver got lost and we could clearly hear him telling the hotel staff person that and our meter was starting at 17 euros before we'd even gone anywhere. When trying to dispute this he said it was just the way it was.
The area is surrounded by building sites so don't expect a lie in past 8am.

If it's just a few nights cheap stay then this would suit you but otherwise avoid!

Great for a quick stay - its clean, convenient and not over the top expensive.

The local area is true Paris - you can easily access all the tourist spots by metro, so its really a choice. The area has alot of construction(there was a massive park built nearby for the Olympic bid). Just down towards the left side - there's a carrefour where you can get groceries (toward porte de clichy metro RER C) and on the right I would recommend exploring the Batignolles area with its fresh markets and cool restaurants(towards Metro Brochant ligne 13).

Rooms are not large - but this is Paris - so manage expectations!

If you want to check out but have a late flight - there is a luggage locker area and for 3-5 euros keep it there for up to 24 hours. Worth it if you want to explore but not be tied to the room.

Breakfast - personally I like to discover the local bakeries, but the buffet is fine(although I think for 12 USD its steep)

Bonus: some rooms have great Eiffel tower views (709 was perfect!)

Room Tip: Try for a room that has eiffel tower views- there are quite a few, you just have to be on the right...

I stayed here on a contiki tour. The rooms were clean and nice, they were newly updated. The only problem I had with it was the area the hotel was located in. The subway was located just down the street, but the area around the hotel did not feel safe at all, and I was very uncomfortable walking back from the subway, especially at night.

We joined some family at this hotel that had been arranged by a tour group doing a sponsored bike ride from London to Paris for McMillan Cancer Nurses - great cause and some serious money raised is the upside - the downside is the hotel, rooms where clean and tidy with a comfy bed but they are tiny rooms with no space and are just a shell, the food in the hotel for a pre-booked meal was very expensive for a crap buffet, the bar was poorly staffed, stocked and closed at midnight, the location was awful and nothing but a building site all around, if its a cheap bed for a night that clean and comfy :-) if your looking for more then keep looking.
