I booked this hotel online at about £80 per night for he room, paid a bit extra for upgrade as well. Compared price on a few sites, turnout one site (lastminute.com I think) had a bargain.

It is about 10 mins walk to Avenue des Champs-Élysées (very good with shopping and restaurants). The hotel is quiet, pretty, clean, especially a classic room design. I also loved the breakfast area and the breakfast (very nice pastries) and polite staff.

Room Tip: Will recommend to everyone, but book a room higher floor and front review in advance. We only had...

For a recent long-planned trip with a girlfriend (without kids, without husbands), Hotel Francois was a perfect base. Walking, shopping, discovering new dining spots and taking in the autumn season in Paris were our priorities. As urbanites ourselves, we appreciated this classy hotel for the excellent location, courteous and helpful hospitality, wireless connectivity throughout the hotel, and clean/comfortable furnishings. After full days of being out on the town, we were happy to return to our home on rue de Magellan, just a couple of minutes' walk from Champs Elysees/George V. Note: This was a fairly easy 10-minute walk (even with a suitcase on wheels) from the Air France bus stop at Etoile near the Arche de Triomphe, esp. with a map on hand.

This was our first trip to Paris and we found the location of this hotel to be brilliant. It is pretty much 1 min from the Champs Elysees, 5 mins to the Arc de Triomphe, approx 15 mins to the Concorde and from there just another 5-10 mins through the garden to the Lourve.

We stayed in an executive room which was massive by European standards. The room faced the street but it was very quiet and we slept peacefully every night. Furnishings were lovely - gives a lovely French feel while remaining tasteful. Staff were friendly and helpful especially at the breakfast room.

The breakfast buffet provides a good variety of cereals/cold meats/fruits/cheese and even individually packaged snack bars for you to pack away in your bag for later in the day.
The hotel has only one lift which fits about 4 people. It can be slow sometimes but there are stairs which is a decent option given that there are just 5/6 floors. There is also a computer with internet access on the ground floor with a printer - really handy for non tech savvy people like us who don't travel with net gadgets :)

Chocs and temperature for the next day every night are a really nice tough too.

Would definitely recommend the Hotel Francois 1er to anyone as we would definitely come back ourselves!

My wife and I spent recently many days in this small, classy hotel, when my flat in Paris had been renovated. It is not easy to find a good hotel that is at the same time recently renovated (by a famous architect) and with a reasonable prise, compared to other hotels in this top area of Paris.
Really caring staff, particularly at the front desk.
The rooms are cosy and well equiped.

My girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend (September 24th and 25th) whilst on a short break in Paris. I often have reservations about 'smaller' hotels but this one was absolutely wonderful!

When we arrived, a very welcoming gentleman greeted us and took our bags in. We had not told the hotel that we would be arriving 5 hours before the standard check in time however, it was as if they were expecting us anyway! The check in process was incredibly smooth and quick and the manager made us feel at home immediately. Perfect service.

Our bags were taken upstairs for us (in the elevator by the stairs hidden by a fake bookcase!) and we were so impressed by the room. You could tell that the hotel/room had been re-decorated recently and that the hotel care about preserving the fixtures and fittings in the room. It was also spotlessly clean. The room was a decent size and very typically French - just what we wanted. The bed was very comfortable - almost too comfortable because we didn't want to get out!The bathroom had a good shower, was of ample size and again, very clean. One other thing to note - the room was cleaned and fresh towels were provided twice a day.

The location of this hotel could not be more perfect. It is on a quiet, safe and clean street. The Champs Elysee and Arc de Triomphe is a 30 second walk and you can reach the Eifel Tower on foot in 10-15 minutes (depending on how fast you walk!). One of the Les Rouges bus tour stops can also be found within a 2 minute walk of the hotel.

We didn't eat in the hotel so I couldn't comment on the quality but by reading other reviews and judging by the rest of the hotel, I would assume it is very good!

All in all, this hotel represented excellent value for money and I definitely recommend this to Trip Advisor members. Whether on a short break or if I was in Paris for a week, i would stay at Hotel Francois 1er every single time. We look forward to going back soon.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. I selected this hotel because it was close to the Champs Elysee, the L'Arc de Triomphe and transportation (literally a 5 minute stroll from the hotel). Hotel Francois 1er was the perfect spot for us. The L'OpenTour hop on hop off buses have a stop around the corner and down the street from the hotel, almost next to the George V metro stop. There is wonderful shopping and people watching nearby and plenty of bistros including Fouquet's. You can walk all the way down the Champs Elysee to the Place de la Concorde and on to the Tuileries Gardens. The hotel itself is on a quiet side street which was very peaceful.

Beside the excellent location, the staff was fantatsic, warm, friendly and willing to go out of their way to make your stay excellent.

As others have said, the breakfast is wonderful and really a great way to start the day.

The rooms are small, but lovely and comfortable. The room pictures on this site are very accurate.

We had a lovely time at this hotel and recommend it highly!
