On our last leg of our honeymoon, we stayed in Hotel Francois 1er. The hotel has an excellent location should you wish to shop around. Its central location allowed us to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit. The only problem we encountered was on our first night. We had problems unlocking our luggage as the lock had jammed. We called to ask for assistance and someone came with a toolbox. However, since we were still deciding how to resolve the problem, he became impatient and told us he had a lot of other stuff to do. I was shocked at his attitude having encountered nothing but excellent service at all other hotels we stayed in before this. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I told him to leave the toolbox behind and I tried several different things before finally succeeding in unlocking my luggage. Thereafter, we called to have the toolbox removed. It was only a single instance but we were exhausted upon arrival and to have a staff not helping in the least, was unwanted. The experience left a bitter taste especially since this was the last leg of our honeymoon--and I had been looking forward to Paris. Other than this, good location and good breakfast. The room was small but we did choose the smallest room and it is normal by Paris standard. But I will not choose to stay here again.
