“Lovely, but depends how much you are paying”
Reviewed 24 September 2012

This is a great little hotel, very near Place d'Italie metro stop. Its bright, clean, and the staff are lovely and helpful. That said, the rooms are (as is typical in Paris) small, and the furniture is very basic with no frills or extras at all (no minibar, no tea facilities, etc). The wardrope, head rest and bedside lockers were made out of cheap varnished plywood, there was a plastic beaker in the bathroom for brushing your teeth, and the linens and towels were made of cheap material. Overall you get the feeling you are staying in a nice, clean hotel, but it is definitely a budget hotel, so as long as you get a decent rate I'd recommend it.

The welcome i received upon arrival was so warm and friendly even though i arrived way early set the tone for my vacation. The reception staff immediatley set about arranging early check in and stowage of my luggage, and advising where to go around the corner to have breakfast while this was done. The room, reception area were the same as photos shown on the net and so clean and tidy. The staff speak very good english and are so helpfull in pointing you in the right direction for restaurants, metro and main sites. The metro station in the Place D'italie is 5minutes walk away with this leading off in all directions to all the main sites, 20 minutes on number 6 train to the base of the Eiffel Tower and 5 minutes longer to the Arc De Triomphe. The hotel is placed in such a good area with bars and restaurants just around the corner, and a small supermarket about 200 metres down the street. The staff are also only too happy to arrange tours showing very good knowledge, and also arranging pick up and return to the hotel. Once again i cannot thank them enough for their friendship and knowledge during my 10 day stay, and would have no hesitation in reccomending this hotel.

Room Tip: If travelling solo choose a superior single room as i did as rooms in Europe are smaller than in Aus...

Highly recommend this hotel for a number of reasons: the area felt safe, only 20 minutes on Metro line 5 from Gare du Nord, only 1 minutes walk from the Metro, direct links to a lot of the sites, all the hotel staff couldn't be more helpful, and they are happy to book tickets for the Seine cruise (saves queueing) and recommending places to visit etc. Breakfast was good (I also popped to the local boulangerie every morning to buy some lovely bread to go with my breakfast), maid service every day, if you prefer a quieter room request one overlooking the courtyard. Also, if you walk along the Avenue des Gobelins, in 10mins you reach the Rue de Mouffetard - lovely area for wandering around, and places to eat. Highly recommend purchasing tickets for the Eiffel Tower beforehand - queues are still 1.5-2hrs - well worth it though. Also, recommend catching the litle train from outside the Moulin Rouge (€6) which takes you up through the streets of Montmarte to the Sacre Coeur, hop off, visit the artists square as well, then hop back on the train to bring you back down again. Seine cruise (€11) also well worth it . Also recommend the Open Top Bus tour - 2 days - tickets can be purchased (as well as a carnet for the Metro) at the Eurostar in St Pancras in either £ or €. Best way to see the main sites of Paris. We had a fantastic time, and the hotel helped make it perfect.

Room Tip: For a quieter room, request one overlooking the courtyard.

A very friendly warm welcome on arrival. Staff were very helpful, advising us on all aspects of sightseeing and getting around the city. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby so no need to go far in the evening if you don't want to. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfasdt was very good, plenty of selection. Very good service. Location was very good, easy to get around on Metro. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

The rooms are as nice as the main picture. If this was a larger hotel i'm sure it would have been awarded 4 stars. ALL staff very nice, helpful and friendly. Nadin and Chantal at reception so friendly. Rooms very clean and looked very recently decorated. Air con worked fine. On side street so not noisy unless you have windows open. Road is currently under works so does not look nice but there was no works noise. Breakfast was typical continental and acceptable. Not in centre of Paris but Metro 2 minutes walk and 20 minutes on metro from most places. Large selection of restaurants close by. Would definetley stay there again.

This hotel is small, in a quiet area but with enough restaurants nearby, very close to a the great metro network. The rooms were very small as mentioned in other reviews but the beds were sooo comfy, the shower was great and we always had hot water. The free wifi was much appreciated by my teen daughter.
The staff make this hotel, they always had a smile, and offered lots of advice, my daughter and felt well looked after and safe. Thank-you to all the staff

Stayed here three times over the past couple of years while on business in the area. A bit more expensive than other hotels in the surrounding streets, but the quality of the bed and bedlinen probably makes up for it if you like comfort. Very clean, free wifi, very comfortable bed, quiet street despite the proximity to Place d'Italie. The rooms all seem to be tiny but that is typical for central Paris. The breakfast room is a tiny room at the back of the lobby - a bit of a squeeze to get in when it's busy, and there isn't a wide range like you get in large hotels with buffet breakfasts, but the croissants, pains au chocolat etc. are good quality. All in all, a reliably clean and comfortable choice.
