“Short stay in Paris”
Reviewed 1 September 2012

Lovely little hotel excellently situated in Paris. Very warm welcome by Christopher when I arrived at 7:30am after a very long flight. Understandably my room wasn't ready as check-in is mid-afternoon. However, Christopher was active in making sure my room was available as soon as possible and it was indeed ready by approximately 10am. While I met many Parisians during this trip who seemed to resent the fact that I did not speak French, Christopher spoke English without any apparent resentment or annoyance. I can't speak highly enough of this staff member. Unfortunately two other staff members were quite aloof and I felt like an inconvenience to them, and I'm an easy customer, so not sure what their reasoning for this was. This tainted my experience, unfortunately. Good customer service is the difference between a good hotel and an exceptional hotel. Fortunately the staff member at checkout was much more engaging and helpful.

Nevertheless, the room was perfectly adequate with a lovely window that opened onto a small steel lattice balcony with a flower box suspended from it. Ample size room. Very clean. Free wifi. Safe in room. Tea & coffee making facilities, however coffee sachets not replenished each day. When I asked the two aloof staff members for more coffee sachets they seemed rather put out by this request, however they did seek out more sachets for me. The shower was designed in such a way that the toilet and bench became drenched with water every time I had a shower. However, wiping down the area with spare towels rectified this situation afterwards.

Loved the design of the hotel and the reception area is quite delightful.

Tip: There is a lovely boutique convenience store (The Drug Store?) just up the road and near the Arc De Triomphe which was handy for supplies as required.

Excellent receptionist greeting us at check in. We were early and so the room was not ready but the complimentary coffee and crossiants went down a treat. Spacious bedroom, very clean and with balcony (as requested) overlooking the road. Air conditioned which we needed for this August bank holiday. Lots of reading material and free wifi available. Hotel was chosen due to its close proximity to Champs d'Lysee. Would definitely recommend.

Superb Parisian hotel worth a stay for anyone wishing to combine business and pleasure. Great location in a quiet street literally a few steps away from les Champs Elysées and l'Arc de Triomphe. Loved the fact the tube is so nearby making it easy for anyone needing to get round Paris with luggage. Hotel Galileo also offers guests great hospitality and outstanding customer service in a homely setting. Lovely room, very comfortable bed and nice bathroom with white marble. Even though my room overlooked the street, it was very quiet and had a great night sleep. Also strongly recommend the Moroccan restaurant next door! Very much looking forward to staying in Hotel Galileo very soon again.

I was going to stay for 2 months in Paris but I came early with my parents, so we booked Hotel Galileo for 2 nights. Turned out to be a great choice for me to prep up living in the city! Good location, very welcoming staff, cozy lobby, adequate size room, bright and airy. They allow us to keep our 4 big luggages in their tiny stair alcoves without question. The hotel's very close to Champs Elysees and the Metro George V (yellow line) that goes to most of the tourist spots in central Paris. The price is fair though it will be nice if it includes breakfast. Breakfast is 14 Euro. They don't have coffee maker in the room, please add one! Other than that, absolument à l'hôtel agréable!

Room Tip: Twin room with tiny lounge area has more space to walk around the room without tripping on your lugg...

Stayed here as it is close to the most famous boulevard in the world. Tucked away on a little side street. Small yet comfortable. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Room has a nice balcony.
