We stayed at the Scribe hotel prior to a concert at the Olympia Hall in Paris and you could not find a best location if you want to stay anywhere near the Opera. The hotel is very well kept, the staff is very helpful and the rooms comfortable (though i did find the bed a little soft for my liking). Breakfast is comprehensive and of good quality too.

Dear valued guest,

Thank you for providing us with feedback with regards to your stay at the Hotel Scribe Paris.

You have chosen the right place! The Hotel Scribe Paris is indeed very well located. The Olympia Hall is roughly about 3 minutes walk... So is the Opera, the Galeries Lafayette and other great places in Paris.
Little story; Josephine Baker, a very famous American Dance Hall Artist was staying at the Hotel Scribe Paris everytime she performed at the Olympia Hall.

As for the softness of the bed, it would have been a pleasure to remove the top matress for your liking. Please make sure you let us know upon your next visit. All we want is for you to enjoy your time at the Hotel Scribe, be it awake and asleep.

Looking forward to welcoming you again soon.

With kind regards,

Vincent Arnaud

Brilliant location (2 minutes from Galerie Lafayette, 1 min from Opera). Lovely interiors (I was on the floor of Josephine Baker), gorgeous room, adorable staff.
Slightly small selection for breakfast - off set by yummie lunches.
I've heard from my colleagues that the gym was a bit of a let down, but it does not matter for me.

BDear Agnes_DC,

Thank you for your comment. Our location is indeed excellent, in the heart of Paris near all the city major attractions.

Our interiors, rooms and public areas were designed by Jacques Grange, famous abroad for his very "French" style. The decoration is a subtle mix between modern and classical style, which is also inspired by history as the Hotel Scribe saw many famous characters and events throughout the years. Each floor is dedicated to a special ctheme, enhanced by an olfactory signature in the corridors. Your room was located on the 2nd floor, Josephine Baker's floor : she used to come at the Hotel when she was performing at the Olympia Theatre !

Thank you for choosing the Hotel Scribe and for mentioning its decoration, its history and its employees ! I sincerely hope that our hotel has become your favourite one in Paris, and that you will be coming back soon.

Best Regards,

Vincent Arnaud

A great hotel with excellent service and food. The staff and service were great. The rooms are not the newest but they are maintained at a very high standard. Breakfast was also a treat. A tip for those flying in from CDG airport - Instead of travelling by train or taxi - you should take the Roissybus which stops at the Opera - a 3 minute walk to the hotel.

My brother and I stayed here for the weekend of the England France 6 Nations match.
Check-in was flawless and quick, room was spotless and very comfortable. Quiet too. Top marks for the concierge staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble and all questions were dealt with efficiently.
Breakfast (included in our stay) was superb. You shouldn't go hungry after it! Saying that, if you're on a room only basis it's going to cost you.
This is a reasonably expensive hotel with clientele to match in part. However, as 2 scruffy post-rugby individuals rolling in late on the Saturday night we didn't feel out of place.
I would certainly bring my family here the next time we visit Paris. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments. Actually this rugby match was a great one ! This week-end was really special as many guests were staying at the hotel to attend this match. There was a warm and friendly atmosphere although all employees were remaining Five Star professionals. This special atmosphere is one of the reasons why guests keep coming back at the Hotel Scribe. They feel like they are at home and in a luxury place at the same time, and this feeling is unique.

Again, thank you for your comments, I am looking forward to welcoming you again soon at the Hotel Scribe Paris.

With so many hotels to choose from in Paris, the difference that makes you want to return to this hotel is the people. The concierge team here is the main reason we always come back. One day we were in an extreme rush and all the concierges were busy with other customers and one of the check in staff asked if we could wait, when we didnt respond affirmatively, she immediately started to help us herself and got us reservations for lunch for that afternoon. I dont know how the maids do it, but no matter what time you leave the room, your beds are always made when you get back. And the beds... Theyre so fluffy and comfortable that without the inspiration of the streets of Paris, theyd be impossible to get out of. It is our fourth time here and we will definitely return. The staff here loves their working environment which shows. The location is also great; the hotel is very close to two metro stations that accomodate multiple lines which is very convenient.

Dear SnailP,

Thank you very much for mentioning the helpfulness and solicitude of our staff. Indeed everyone here really feel concerned about the guests well-being and always try to satisfy their needs, before they even mention them. If someone is not available at a time, another Ambassador (it is how employees are called at the Hotel Scribe) will be pleased to help.

The Concierge Team makes it a point of honor to answer the guests requirements as soon as they can, and always do their best to meet their expectations. Emmanuelle, Linda, Marie and Hélène (all women !!) are at your entire disposal and hope to welcoming you again soon !

The standard rooms, called as luxury, though tastely decorated, would definately benefit a lot from some renovation.
Apart from that, it has been a flawless stay, during a - after 12 hears marriage - new honeymoon, long week end

Dear Kyblaw,

I am truly honored you chose the Hotel Scribe Paris for your second honeymoon ! Paris is the most romantic city in the world so you could not have made a better choice. When guests come to celebrate their honeymoon, we are glad to offer them some special amenities in room such as flowers and typical French macaroons.

The hotel is actually "très chic" , as its history is prestigious and we are very proud of telling guests about it. The Scribe was the Jockey Club Head Office during the XIXth Century. The Lumière Brothers made their first cinema projection here and Josephine Baker used to come on the fringe of her shows at the Olympia Theatre, just behind the Hotel. The Scribe Hotel has a very special atmosphere due to its past and we are very proud of it.

We will be glad to give you more details about our very special history next time you come to visit us.

You pay for location. The rest has been eroded over the years and every corner has been cut n rder to maintain above average standards. e.g. Breakfast, Bar and bathrooms. The 'Tea Room' charges Plaza Athenee or Cafe de la Paix prices for a surrounding and service which are average.

Room Tip: Stay here for location when on special offer but don't expect more than a Novotel/Sofitel.
