We've stayed at several Sofitel hotels and have basically never been disappointed. So we tried this one for our Paris Easter weekend and it was terrific.
Location - excellent
Room - also very high quality, we had a luxury on the 4th floor overlooking Bd des Capucines, spacious and comfortable and very, very quiet
Bed - as great as ever
Breakfast - top notch selection, high quality food (we did see queues on a couple of mornings but never got stuck in one)
Service - as at other places (Lisbon, Vienna etc) Sofitel staff are almost without exception helpful and attentive without ever being overbearing. From reception to concierge to breakfast staff to cleaning lady - all smiling and helpful.
It's a bit pricey of course but well worth it. Highly recommended and we'll certainly go back if/when we stay on the right bank again.
The restaurant (Le Lumiere) was very nice too but I'll review separately.
