“Nice hotel, not a perfect”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

Very nice hotel, good rooms, good location. Breakfast pretty good.

Concierge team are excellent.

Air conditioning working not perfectly. Not suitable for real hot night.

Housekeeper and room service also not good, they easily forgot about your orders.

Dear Илья С,

I thank you for your constructive comment. I noticed that you like the hotel & our concierge staff. Air conditioning didn't work well due to the heat. Sorry about that and the housekeeping/room service oversight. We tune our operations thanks to your feedback.

I hope this experience doesn't affect our strenghts you noticed. We are not perfect but we tend to get a high-standard service.

Best Regards,

Ando

Stayed as part of tour package for French river cruise so can't comment on price. Our room was on the second top floor and looked into the light well but otherwise very quiet and well appointed. Strange shape though. Bathroom well appointed. Beds comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. food excellent but I was a bit disappointed that in Paris of all places the coffee came out of an automated machine instead of freshly brewed. Situated just round the corner from Galleries Layfayette and the Opera and within walking distance of the Louvre. (Concierge gave us a great tip on how to avoid Sunday queues ). A really nice hotel.

This is a lovely hotel situated minutes away from galleries Lafayette (actually just down the street). There are also lots of places to eat and it's minutes away from the Champs de Élysées. There is a taxi rank just outside the hotel and the fares are much cheaper than I would have expected. The rooms are lovely and well equipped with tea or coffee. Lovely bathrooms too. The staff were all lovely and polite. Now on to the negatives, our room was a bit hot (but they gave us a massive discount for this and we opted to stay with the room because of the money we saved). But they offered a room with better AC from the second day of our stay because they were fully booked the day we arrived. They did provide a fan and we were able to open the French windows. In the room and living area. Their room service menu is also quite limited, but given that there is so much great food minutes from the hotel, we didn't care! You must try Thai Thai, it's cheap but the food is great, it's just 2 minutes from the hotel door. All in all we enjoyed our stay tremendously :-) and we will definitely be back again

Arrived after a very long day from London. Front desk staff not very friendly and our room was not ready. We were however offered a complimentary drink while we waited. After 1/2 we asked about our room as some other guests advised us that they had been waiting 1 1/2 hours for there room. The room is beautiful, very comfortable twin beds and great bathroom.

Arrived in June, 2014 and had requested a room with two beds. Unfortunately, the room was very small in which the two beds had to be placed side by side. Not an ideal arrangement for two "unrelated" travel partners. The room was so small that is was difficult to use the ironing board. The housekeeping definitely needs improvement. Used coffee mugs from the morning were not replaced with clean ones, free miniature bottles of shampoo, lotion, etc were scarce and sometimes not replaced. The buffet breakfast was standard fare and not impressive, i.e. runny scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, etc. It was impressive that Vivian, the receptionist in the breakfast room was very accomodating to bring us coffee before the 6:30AM opening in the lobby. He was very guest oriented. The worst was the evening appetizers, plain white rice with a side of gravy, peanuts, slab of melted cheese on dough was considered pizza. The evening cocktail hour was only worth attending for the wine and the one server who worked so hard every evening to bring out the food. Without her, the evening would have been a disaster. The location of the hotel is ideal, it is near the Opera House and walking distance to the Louvre and shopping.

If you are looking for a decently priced American Style hotel in a convenient but fairly quiet location in Paris, you have found it. Not that it was cheap, we ended up paying 300 Euros per night even upon prepayment of the whole stay. Nevertheless, for Paris standards, it was reasonable. Rooms are decent sized for European standards and facilities fairly modern. A solid 3.5-4 star hotel. Staff was hit and miss, most were very friendly and helpful while others were Parisian snobby. I requested a room facing the inner "courtyard", which was not really a courtyard but merely an empty space in the middle of a square building; but it was extremely quiet all day and night, i could not hear any traffic noise and i am a very sensitive sleeper. Only problem with the room was the A/C. On hot days when then temperature outside went about 85F, the A/C could not cool the room down below about 79F, even on the coldest setting. I did not complain about this to management because the weather cooled down the next day but i could imaging it could get unbearable if the hot weather had continued. Breakfast was not included in our rate but we did buy the breakfast (pricey 29 Euros per person) most days and it was decent. Overall good location just one block from metro station and with many mid level restaurants, shops, bistros, cafes, and patisseries in the area.

Room Tip: Request room facing "courtyard" if you need quiet. Zero view but will be quiet.

Stayed at the Marriott Opera Ambassador for 4 nights. The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are of average size for European rooms; as a family of 4 we needed two rooms. Breakfast each morning was included in our rate and was a welcome treat. The hotel is close to the Paris subway system which we found to be very convenient. It is also very close to the Opera and some major shopping areas.

The first room we were given had AC issues. When we called the front desk they acknowledged they knew the room had AC issues and suggested we open the window and use the room fan. I asked for another room and they did give us one. I found it odd they gave us this room fully knowing of the issue and annoying they suggested we open the window and use the fan. I had to specifically ask for another room. Fortunately the other room had no AC issues.

The hotel elevators are small and extremely slow. I found myself taking the stairs as much as taking the elevators.

We did eat at the bar one afternoon for drinks and a few snacks before dinner. It was quite expensive.

Overall the hotel is fine. It was mostly what we expected, with a few minor issues.
