“Great Hotel - one to return to!”
Reviewed 10 September 2011

My wife and I stayed here during Valentines weekend for a romantic break to celebrate our engagement anniversary. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful everything we would expect. If you are looking to stay in the centre of a Parisien neighbourhood this is it!
You can walk to the Eiffel Tower in around 1hr 30m, a step away from the antique markets, the metro is around the corner, the tram a couple of streets away.
The appartment we rented was a self contained one so all the kitchen requirements one would expect, good flat screen tv, hifi - not that was much time to watch tv! There are supermarkets large and small 2-10mins away also french-moroccan owned/run supermarkets selling delicious rotisserie chickens! tubs of stuffed olives houmous etc to take back and eat in if you wish, and of course the typical coffee bars. So do stay here if you think this sounds what you are seeking!
We flew from Southampton with FlyBe early on the Saturday returned the Monday and managed to fit in a good 3hrs up the Eiffel, cruised the Seine on Batobus [a must] visited the zoological gardens and did the Car Rouge [book this online prior to going to save some euros!] and a few miles of walking Paris districts, oh the tram is superquick, cheap, clean so look this one up aswell!
As usual please feel free to drop us an email and we will endeavour to answer your questions.
All the best Andrew 'n' Nicola ;-)

We just came back and i will say the hotel was just what we wanted. We went we our two small children and they loved it too. The neighborhood was great, you could feel the real life in Paris, with no tourist around and we reasonable prices. Easy acces to the city centre as the bus stop is jus in front the hotel. I will recomended it, specially if travelling with children.

Anyone who's choosing an apartment in Paris, cant go much wrong with this option. Despite being far from the center, the room was comfortable, had all amenities, 24-hr reception, and was in a peaceful residential area. It is near the southern fringe of the city in the 14th arrondissement.

We didn't like the Paris metro too much with its non-existent escalators (but have to admit, the network is pretty dense, and the metro quite old, almost a century back, so will give it that). But if you're with a family, you can do very well to catch bus no 58 which leaves just opposite from the Citadines, to its final stop on bank of the Seine (Chatelet area). Anyway, there are 2 metro stations nearby (15 minute away is Alesia (the next stn on this line 'Denfert Rochereau' will also transport you to the airport directly), and 10 minutes far is Plaisance), so you can get to the center pretty fast. Get your maps at the metro stations, or online in your phone before you go.

Transportation worries over, the room was comfortable and decent-sized, and the kitchen with every amenities. Although the bad part was that the microwave didn't work for one day in our six-day stay, and we had to do with hot plates, which were also inferior in quality in the other apartments we used in our trip (Bruges, Amsterdam). The dish-washer was there, and there was a laundry-room downstairs (9 Euro for wash & dry). A supermarket Franprix, is just below the apartment, and a bigger one a 6-7 minute walk away on the way to Alesia metro. Its also a Franprix, and opens/closes 30 min earlier/later than the nearer one. Service is generally good, but for the microwave thingy, and the fact that the electricity in our room tripped quite often.

6 days in Paris will go by in no time, and is beyond the scope of this review to even discuss that. My tips will be to get a Paris Navigo Decavourte card (see parisbytrain.com), atleast a 2 day museum pass (will save you previous time in ticket buying lines), and don't miss Louvre, Orsay, Rodin, Napoleon's tomb, Sacre Couer. There's a wealth of info on Paris online, and research well to make your trip a success. Get a good guidebook, or download individual walking routes before you go. And lastly visit Louvre after every other museum, as you wont appreciate anything after it, not even Versailles. There are more parks than i can mention. And do do try local breads & pastries. Baguettes, Macarons, Pain-au-chocolat, Tarts, Gelatos, Sorbets, and every which that catches your fancy. They are every bit delicious as they're made out to be.

Oh I forgot the apartment was tremendous value at around 200/night for 4 people. Try finding this rate anywhere else in Paris..

We booked the club room, it includes daily cleaning and continental breakfast. It was convenient with kids. The club rooms also has a small balcony which was very helpful. There is a great air condition (yes it was hot some of the days late April). There is a supermarket just below the hotel and other foods very near, both restaurants, fast food and traditional french breads.
There is a wired free internet connection in the leaving room, which was very helpful. However, since I usually plan the day early in morning, we switch our room with the kids so I won't interrupt them. The kitchen has everything you need, including a dish washer.
Although it is located not at the center of Paris, the neighborhood is nice and it is about 8 minutes walk to the nearest metro station (#13) which was good enough for us (couple+9+5) and can take you anywhere in Paris.
A taxi ride from CDG airport was 45 EUR and the way back 65 EUR (during the rush hour).

We recently stayed Citadines Porte de Versailles for 3 weeks in during my husband's official visit to Paris. The rooms were comparatively smaller. The house keeping staff werent very friendly and spoke only French. The room had all the other amenties of an apartment hotel like a fully equipped kitchen, toileteries, iron box etc. The metro station La plaiscance is almost 10 minutes away by walking..some may find it a little tiring after a long day's outing to get back to the hotel. There are a whole lot of restaurants and supermarkets in close proximity of the hotel which were very helpful for us. We also visited the flea market at the porte de Vanves which was a nice experience.

I spent four nights in the Citadines Porte de Versailles. The location is close to the Parc d'Exposition, just four stops with the tramway. The surrounding area is relatively quiet, there are coffee bars and some nice restaurants around, typical for Paris. As it is an aparthotel, there is not much service included. The rooms are clean and offer good comfort. Il liked the feeling to have a small apartment and to live like a Parisian.

Stayed here with my spouse and two friends, sharing a suite, for 12 days. Very good experience. Great little neighbourhood with everything you could possibly need, including a grocery store, just steps away. Great bus service on same street and not too far from Metro. (I recommend the bus...less crowded and a great way to see more of the city.) Room was clean and efficient. As elsewhere in Paris, space is limited, but it suited our needs. Had a few "discussions" with staff about what constituted "extra" cleaning, for which we paid 8 euros a day. Some days it was a full cleaning, other days they merely changed the towels. Odd! Front desk staff was generally helpful and friendly. Laundry in-house (a bit pricey but available 24/7) or in launderette a couple of blocks down the street. Wifi available in lobby and very reliable. Regular plug-in hi-speed internet in rooms. A desktop and printer is also available free of charge in the lobby. Liked the balcony and patio doors in both rooms of our suite. Pullout sofa bed in main room was surprisingly comfortable. Bedroom had very large regular bed (twins pushed together). Would definitely recommend. Good value and kitchenette helps you save as well. Many wonderful take-away caterers and bakeries within a stone's throw. As quiet as can reasonably be expected in a Paris neighbourhood...mostly residential with shops on main street. Had no trouble sleeping. Underground Parking available but pricey - get the weekly rate - and very tight. If you have a rental car, make it a very small one.
