Spent 2 nights here with 2 of my grown up children. The staff were very helpful but over stretched . Breakfast first day was great with a good continental choice. Second morning the poor girl was rushed off here feet and the Spanish omelette still frozen.
The area is residential and we felt safe including at night time - latest time back midnight.
The room was definitely compact - I perfected a brilliant side shuffle to get around the bottom of the bed! -but 3 of Us stayed in there and thanks to considerate fellow guests and no noise from outside slept very well.
There is also a really good cafe for a quick drink by the Tolbiac tube station with friendly staff

Room Tip: 8 rooms per floor ours was 510 and at end of building so quieter

Even after reading previous reviews about small rooms, we were still surprised at how tiny the room was! However, the bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and powerful (but a little annoying as the water was spraying onto the floor). There were no towels in our room but the staff immediately got us some when we informed them. In fact, we found the reception staff to be extremely helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was nice enough, but no hot food available (apart from toast). Parking was 20€ per night in a secure underground car park situated about 200m from the hotel. Quick and easy walk to the Tolbiac Metro Station. Plenty of shops and restaurants around but we found there was a bit of a problem with drunks in the area. Overall, fine for a short stay if you are not planning to spend all day at the hotel.

LOCATION
It's walking distance from "Tolbiac" metro station which is only 1 station away from "Place d'Italie" where you can take a metro directly to the Eiffel Tower (if that's what you're interested in) so basically it can be said that Eiffel Tower - IBIS Hotel Tolbiac distance is somewhat about 35 mins, which is fair enough considering the fact that Paris is HUGE. There's plenty of cafes and (fast-food) restaurants nearby the hotel so you can grab your snack, sandwich, breakfast, whatever you fancy at basically any times as the opening times are quite wide. The area where the hotel is is rather quiet.

STAFF
Polite, English spoken, helpful. Can't tell much more.

ROOM
Little bit of a disappointment. The room was very small, there were only 2 electrical power points (none in the bathroom) and the third bed we paid for was only an extra bed which certainly is not a size of a classical bed. There was no minibar/fridge to our surprise. There were towels and little bit left of shampoo and shower gel. WiFi worked perfectly.

FOOD
Can't write anything since we didn't order breakfast or any other meal. Only what I know by looking at the menu - you can order food from the reception 24hrs a day, which could be nice at times.

GENERAL
For the price we paid (€90 for 1 night for 3 people) we were satisfied thanks to the kind-of-good location close to the metro station. If I was to stay in Paris for longer than 1 night thought, I'd probably either look for something more comfortable or pay for a little bigger room. I'd nevertheless recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't need much of a luxury and comfort and is just looking for a simple, cozy place to sleep in.

The price was right the bed was comfortable and it was near my business meeting. and metro. But how a multi-storey hotel deals with a broken elevator is a true sign of knowing what service is.. and isn't. Elevators break. It happens. My luck had it that this one broke twice in the two nights I stayed there! But there was not even one offer to assist. Not one phone call to let us know. Lucky I am able-bodied enough to climb and drag a suitcase 8 flights of stairs. But it was not pleasant. I would have expected a call in the morning to the guests checking out with an offer to assist in bringing the luggage down. Nada. And to top it all off, when I asked for metro directions, specifically asking for the most convenient route dragging a heavy suitcase, the woman at the reception desk set me on a connection route that involved six (6!!) different ups and downs on stairs in the maze of the metro tunnels with no escalators. To sum up: only for the able-bodied and long on patience. Will NOT stay there again.

Room Tip: if you have to stay there ask for a rtom not facing the main street so you can get some sleep.

Let me start by saying that this is Paris, everything is expensive and small. And I mean everything unless you are prepared to spend an enormous amount of money for the space and service Americans are used to. As others have noted, the room was tiny, I cannot emphasize enough how minuscule it was. I was sharing the room with one of my best friends, so it was not so unbearably uncomfortable that we were always so close to each other because there was literally nowhere else to move, but it was a deep step down from the ibis we had just left in Madrid. On the positive side, we were not disappointed with the size and cleanliness of the bathroom. It was consistently stocked and clean for us when we returned for the night. The front desk was helpful and even marked out on a map how to get to the best Laundromat nearby when we wanted to do a load of laundry. I would stay here again, but keep in mind the rooms are particularly minute, it is a good five minute walk to the metro stop and not very well lit at night, and several minutes away from the center of Paris. It is a decent hotel, just make sure you know what you are signing up for when you book a room.
