This hotel has a good location, about 15 minutes to walk from Notre Dame. There are a lot of boulangeries and restaurants. Metro is also near. Room is small but clean and cleaned daily, towels are changed daily too, the staff is pleasant. We had one problem. Nearby this hotel, behind the wall is going repair of the other hotel and the builders are drilling from 9 am to 18 pm. Repair works have just started. If you are not going to spend all day in a hotel room, then it's ok.

We stayed at Hotel Saint Christophe from March 8th until March 13th.

The hotel itself is a small hotel with 6 floors and 3 to 4 rooms per floor. There is an elevator (lift) but it’s ridiculously small and literally has enough room for 2 people or 1 person with a couple of suitcases.

I want to leave a very honest and factual review of this hotel. The reason we are leaving a poor rating is because of a couple factors. First is because my husband’s wedding ring went missing from the room. We left our room and were gone for approximately 30 minutes when he realized he forgot to put his ring on. We returned immediately to find the housekeeper was in the room cleaning but the ring was not on the desk where it had been left. My husband and I turned the room upside down, went dumpster diving in the trash, exhausted every possibility and came up with nothing. The housekeeper spoke zero English so there was no getting anywhere with her. We immediately spoke with the general manager, Ian, about the situation but having paid for the hotel and needing to stay there a couple more nights we didn’t want to be too drastic as we didn’t have any hard evidence except our word against theirs. However, the ring DID go missing from our room.

Furthermore, the next morning, we specifically told the same housekeep that we didn’t need the room cleaned. We were upset at what happened the day before and we decided that we’d make our own bed and ask for towels. This is when things became very disturbing. Paranoid, when we left the room we placed a small piece of paper above the door frame that would fall if the door were to be opened. When we returned less than 1 hour later, the paper was detached from the door and inside the room, meaning that someone did in fact enter our room when we asked them not to do so. When we addressed this incident to Ian (manager) he said that if someone tells the maid not to go in she will DO IT ANYWAY in case something needs to be straightened or if someone “vomited” on the floor. If this were the case, the towels on the bathroom floor would have been removed and they weren’t. This obviously made us feel extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable.

Ian was fluent in English and I respectively conveyed my deep concerns with the security of his hotel. His defense of the hotel staff’s “integrity” was unwavering. I quickly felt like I was speaking to a brick wall despite the proof that the room was compromised.

I should also point out that when you leave the hotel they make you leave your key with room number on a wall so that anyone who walks in the hotel can see your key hanging there and know you are not in your room. There were a couple times we walked in and nobody was at the desk so we walked over and grabbed our key ourselves. We could have picked up anyone else’s room key if we had wanted to do so.

When we first checked in the hotel, the desk person pointed out that they work in conjunction with an airport shuttle service upon our departure from the hotel for “just” $36 Euros for the two of us. DON’T FALL FOR THIS! We opted for this service to pick us up at 5:45am. The driver picked us up in a not-so-nice passenger van on time, however, we soon figured out we weren’t the only passengers in his route. There wasn’t one but two additional stops to pick up passengers after passengers and the van soon became very crowded. The normal travel time to the airport at this hour would have been 45 minutes maximum. Instead, it took over 1hr 15minutes to get to CDG. Save yourself the time and money and schedule a taxi to pick you up.

OK, here are some positives about the hotel:

The front desk staff was generally friendly and helpful and spoke some English (one person even helped us order food one night). The room is small (especially if you bring more than one suitcase) but does have a good shower and a mini bar that you can use to store your drinks etc. The WiFi worked well in our room (032) and we had a nice view from our window down to the street below. The windows open up all the way which was nice to let the breeze come in (it does get very noisy on weekend nights). The hotel is located very near the Place Monge metro off line 7 as well as a bus route (47) that would take you into the city. There are also several nice bakeries around (one right across the street that was divine) as well as lots of restaurants to choose from in walking distance.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
Thank you for taking some time for writing a review.
We regret your stay didn't go as well as you had wished.
However I wish to confirm that I have total confidence in my Staff. The person who did your room had been working for us for more than 10 years, and we have NEVER had any problems with her. As you can see by the many reviews we have, we have NEVER had problems linked to missing belongings.
Also when you first mentionned you had lost your ring, you weren't sure if you had lost it in the room or if it had maybe fallen in the street? You told us your husband was in a hurry and did'nt know what to wear and that he had changed clothes several times. Maybe his rinf got blocked in one of his shirts? You also forget to mention that I personnaly emptied all the trash bags, took all your bedding off the bed to help you find it. And as a bad surprise we found you had pulled out of the wall the "Bedhead" that we had to fix at your departure.
Regarding the shutlle service, we wish to inform future guests that the cost for a taxi will be of approximately 70 €uros versus the 36 € you paid for the shutlle, that does imply having a longer journey because of other pickups...
We do hope your ring will turn up, maybe amongst your clothes or in the bottom of your suitcase.
Wishing you a pleasant day
Regards,
Ian ROBAT

This small hotel is in a great location in the Latin Quarter near the University of Paris 6 and other universities, Jardin des Plants, the Pantheon, the Seine, and several metro stops. Notre Dame Cathedral is about a 20 minute walk. Gare de Lyon is about a 15 minute walk, and Gare d'Austerliz is a little closer. There are 2 Patisseries/Boulangeries right across the street, and there are plenty of other shops nearby. The neighborhood is very pleasant to walk in. My room was clean and pleasant. Although it was small, it was not as tiny as some Paris hotel rooms I've been in. The bathroom was small (not tiny), but it was clean and well appointed. The elevator was very small (one person plus luggage), and the stairs required your complete attention to navigate (the steps are narrow). The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was relatively quiet, although I did hear a little talking from an adjacent room at one point. The WiFi worked fine in the room. If I needed/wanted to be in this area, I would definitely choose this hotel again. The room was relatively inexpensive for such a pleasant hotel in a good location in Paris (94 Euro per night for a single).

We stayed in the Hotel Saint Christophe in March 2014 for 2 weeks. We've travelled with 2 years child and the staff of the hotel gave us comfortable baby cot for him. The room was not really small, even with a baby bed we have some place for our suitcases and otners. The staff is very friendly, everyone speaks english. My child was sick 3 days and I am very thankfull to the staff for their help and support during these days. For some reasons we asked to change the room and we've got a new one.
The hotel is situated in 2 minutes from metro station Place Monge, from there you can get straight in 10-15 minutes Louvre, Opera, Galeries Lafayette etc, Notre Dam you can reach by foot in 20-25 Minutes or use a metro.
I didnt like the breakfast, but you will find some bistro or cafe not far from the hotel, one problem i didnt like them although, but i think its all about me))
The cleanliness and wi-fi was ok.
I really enjoyed this hotel and truly recommend it to everyone who wants to have holidays in Paris.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights during the March Break and couldn't have been happier. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was small but very clean, and the location was perfect for exploring the shops, cafes and sites. The breakfast which consisted of coffee, orange juice, yogurt, cheese, bread, croissants and granola was a good way to start the day. We would definitely stay here on our next visit to Paris.

My Husband & I stayed at the Hotel St. Christophe Hotel three nights Sept. 2013. I would describe it as an excellent 3 star boutique hotel.
Check in- swift, courteous & efficient.
Room not too small for Parisian standards & quiet but could use updating.
Decent sized bathroom which always had hot water but also could use updating. I loved the location close to Metro, parks, and cafés. Did not have their breakfast, as there are plenty of great options within walking distance. Staff was extremely helpful & friendly with zero attitude. For the price the St. Christophe is a good choice.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
Thank you for taking some time to write us a review.
We are glad you enjoyed staying with us.
Regarding our rooms, we are aware they aren't "designer" made but this is the decoration we like. A typical french style. It is a shame if all hotels finish by being identical.
We hope to see you soon.
Kind regards.
