“ONLY IF YOU BOOK THE PRIVILEGE ROOM”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

From our experience not all the people working in the hotel are kind. The privilege rooms are very good and you really are under the Tour Eiffel; we had been moved there after 2 days and before this we were in a standard room with view on the other side and it was awful. We booked through hotels.com and there was not the option so when we arrived at the hotel and asked for a Tour Eiffel view it was not possible because all the rooms had already been booked; they moved us after 2 days and with an extra charge of Eur 100,00 per night. We did not have breakfast included and so we had it outside of the hotel every day and it was not a problem as there are a lot of brasseries serving very good breakfast also in the neighborhood. My husband had to be urgently operated at the ankle 10 days prior to our arrival in Paris and he still had stitches inside it during our trip. As we booked the trip in January we did not believe that having the plane back home at 21.20 hours could be a problem but it was, because my husband could not walk for too much time. The manager was kind enough to allow us keeping the room till 17.00 hours at no extra charge and we really appreciated it because people working at reception were not so much kind during our stay. The manager was.
In conclusion: book this hotel but only with privilege rooms with view on the Eiffel Tower, the other rooms are really not good at all.

Room Tip: ONLY Privilege room with view over the Eiffel Towers. Other rooms are terrible

I know the location is great but don't compromise quality for location, there are plenty of other options close to the Eiffel Tower. Very rude staff, filthy rooms, housekeeping never came before 2 pm, when our tv didn't work i phone downstairs (when the phone would work, most time i had to use my own cell phone to call the hotel because the in room phone didn't work) they said someone would be right up...30 mins later i called again (from my cell phone) 4 times before someone picked up the front desk then when i told them who i was and what room number they hung up on me, i had to call 2 more times before i got through and told them we were still waiting for someone to fix our tv and the guy rudely said "i know, i said someone is on their way up" and hung up the phone on me while I was mid sentence talking. There was construction all over the place and the elevators didn't always work leaving us to climb 4 flights of stairs. nobody helped with our luggage or taxis. You need a hotel card to make the lights in your room work (it slide into a socket above the switch) and we would leave it there so we could turn the lights on when we would come back and housekeeping kept taking our card out of the room so we had no working lights...AGAIN i would call down stairs and they would tell me to walk down and get one! (I'm sorry but a 4 star hotel should send someone up immediately with a card especially when their staff are the ones who keep taking it) Our room was supposed to be one of the newly renovated ones but it smelled like urine, paint chips were everywhere, there was something disgusting growing on our fridge (i have pics of all of this) our sheets were dirty and there were deep grooves in the bed from previous guests. They charge 28 euro a night for rental car parking and the machine rarely worked to pay so we would have to go back upstairs to pay several times (the girl up front said we could park it out front cheaper but it's a dangerous area at night and it's not wise to do so). The people across the hall from us had ordered room service and their dirty dishes were left in the hall in front of our room for 2 days before being picked up. Nobody there seemed to care about anything and nobody would listen to us if we wanted something. We seemed to be a burden whether we were asking for another room key because ours was taken or where the nearest place to exchange money was (which by the way they said was a "blue building down the street" and nothing further....which way down the street? is there a name? There was so much more awful things but it's not even worth it to write it. This place should be a 3 star at best (and i think that's being generous) it is a dump and not worth $1700 for the week, we have had better service at a comfort inn for $700 for the week and it was much much much cleaner. Again, it is not worth the compromise of being treated well and having a clean place just for the location...there are many other options around the Eiffel Tower. The sad thing is, I bet a manager from there will leave an insincere comment on my review saying "its not up to our standards, i'm sorry your experience did not meet your standards" etc. but its the same ole thing other people complained about so obviously nothing is being done about it.

The location is the best thing this hotel has, the hotel itself is weird, maybe too modern for my taste.....the halls on the floors makes you feel as if you are in a submarine, the shower and toilet are separated and the toilet always have a weird urine smell.......staff was ok........they didnt make the room the first day and the second i had to call the maid...the breakfast is like 20 euro....a joke not recommended unless you get a really really good deal.

If you're someone who is fascinated with the Eiffel tower and you wish to see it 24 hours a day, then this hotel is where you want to be. Centrally located and near the tourist attractions. Rooms are okay, nothing really special. Small as what is expected in Europe. Needs to upgrade all their facilities to make their guests' stay in the hotel worthwhile considering the price per night. Nevertheless, our 4-night stay in this hotel met our expectations.

Room Tip: Choose rooms with an Eiffel Tower view.

Hotel was a great location, close to 2 train stations champs de mars tour eiffel and bir-hakeim, landmarks of the eiffel tower, seine river and the room windows positioned infront of the eiffel tower itself. The rooms were excellent, big plushy bed, nice bathroom all in all, somply clean. Shops, cafes, pharmacy and even a post office are 5-10min walk away. Pleasent and helpful front desk staff.

Will strongly consider to use again shall we return to Paris.
