“Perfect location”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Very nice hotel. Room was small but comfortable. Bathroom was clean and modern. Location was perfect. It was short walk to Eiffel Tower and close to River Seine. You can see Eiffel Tower from the hotel. You may request a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower, probably for a premium room rate. Cafes surround the area. The Batobus (water taxi) is just across Eiffel Tower and stops at The Louvre, Musee de Orsay, Notre Dame and other attractions. The Trocadero is just across the river.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower so you can view it when it sparkles at night

This is a cute hotel in the best location in Paris. You walk outside and you can see the Eiffel tower. It's maybe 3 block walk away from it. Newly updated hotel. Great atmosphere. Clean. Rooms are small but that's pretty standard for Europe. Tiny bathroom, again standard. But so clean and comfortable bed. Good deal for the money spent. The train is a few blocks away, very convenient.
Would definitely recommend if you're spending a few days in Paris.

Room Tip: No need to spend extra for Eiffel tower view. The Eiffel tower is so close; better to go for a walk...

I stayed here recently and overall I enjoyed the experience. Upon check in after a 30 hour trip I was met with a bit of a grumpy female at the front desk. The room was a bit small but still nice and new. The bathroom was clean and in perfect working order and the bed was very comfortable. The location was ideal as it was close to the Eiffel Tower and a metro station and it was handy for a short stay. The hotel offers free wi-fi but breakfast is extra and over-priced. Even though I enjoyed my stay its clear you pay only for the location

My wife and I recently stayed at the Mercure for 4 nights.

Location - Superb location as is only 5 minutes walking to the Eiffel Tower. Despite being so close, it wasn't noisy at all and is handily close to a main road with a load of restaurants, bakeries and a couple of Supermarkets.

Hotel - Clean, high quality hotel throughout as should be expected. Price of stay is very high but right next to Eiffel Tower, so no more expensive than you'd expect.

Rooms - Small sized as is pretty much standard around Europe (i researched it as other reviewers have unfairly said this hotel have small rooms). We did have top floor room with Eiffel view although you do only see the top half (2nd floor of Eiffel upwards). Still a stunning view though and even though it costs a pretty penny for the privelage, worth it for a one-off romantic stay. The top 2 floors are privelage rooms so you have mini fridge with drinks refilled every day and are included FREE. Water, orange juice and coke - a nice little touch I thought

Food - Expensive in this Hotel and not that much selection. We had 1 meal and weren't hungry so asked for something small and we ended up paying 11 euros each just for chips! 5 euros for a small coke/lemonade each is quite expensive but is pretty standard everywhere near the Eiffel Tower so don't mind that. We could have had steak with chips for 20 euros! The food i did see on other's plates did look nice though. Breakfast is 16 euros each per day...don't bother doing this, there are places with exactly the same food littered all over the place and costs around 10-12 Euros maximum. There are some cheaper places where locals go but we weren't that adventurous to go down back alleys where they're supposed to be. We don't usually have much breakfast anyway so just went to a bakery each day to grab croissants plain & choc etc and supermarket to get fruit & drink and went to lay down on the Champs De Mars anyway (gardens with clear view in front of the Eiffel Tower, which was stunning way to have breakfast)

Service - Reception was excellent and swift service on check in and check out + available to help with any queries. Restaurant were unbelievably slow, wasn't busy, only had chips but took over half hour to bring food. Water we asked for aswell didn't arrive at all

Facilities - Fitness suite is small and only good for very casual gym goers. Treadmill, bike and cross trainer available + 1 leg machine + 1 bicep machine. Great view of Eiffel from there. Not great for training but you're not in Paris in front of the Eiffel to work out are you?!

Overall - Nice hotel, very convenient location and lovely view of Eiffel from top 2 floors.

Room Tip: Make sure you go top floor if you want Eiffel Tower view

If you want to be near the Eiffel tower, this is definitely the hotel for you! We stayed here for a weekend in January 2013, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were literally only in the hotel morning and night, so can't comment on the food. We were quite high up, but unfortunately had a rubbish view as were on the opposite side of the tower, which was a bit sad! The room itself was great - huge bed, lovely big shower, amply storage space, and a nice TV with English channels. The staff were not very helpful when we checked in and out, and didn't really explain when we asked them why they needed a print of our debit card, etc. But if you want a decent, central hotel, then this is a good reasonably priced option.

Room Tip: Get one on the Eiffel Tower side if possible!
