“Good and Consistent; but...”
Reviewed 9 November 2013

I'm a Marriott fan - unabashed; lifetime Platinum in their frequent traveler program. Obviously then one of the things I like the most is the Marriott predictability - I know what to expect in their hotels (at least in general) and that's one of the reasons I stay there. Well, that and I get treated well...not that they don't treat everyone well, but I'm a loyal customer.

First time we've stayed in this hotel. It's more of city hotel, i.e. not a very large resort-type hotel. The lobby bar was adequate, but crowded. There's no Concierge Lounge (one of those frequent traveler perks)...but I did get free breakfast. They said our room was an upgrade, but it was nothing special - view of another building. The hotel is in a great location, but very busy outside. The service was generally great, but the outside/sidewalk café could use more staff.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, you may want to avoid the street side rooms. I liked the idea of the...

We stayed here only one night, but the space was great. We had a rather spacious room for paris right on the Champs-Elysees. Our room had two amazing balconies and, despite being on a busy street, was very quiet. The staff was wonderful. They are warm and welcoming and even let me slaughter the French language a bit! Overall, I think this is a great place to stay.

Room Tip: We had room 130- very high ceilings and 2 amazing balconies- we felt very Parisian!

It's just a doorway on the Champs Élysées with a doorman welcoming you. But when you walk in there is a most beautiful atrium and lobby. If you want American coffee this is not the place for you but if yo want an elegant visit in the most romantic city on a most famous street you will love it.

Stayed for 2 nights in September then did a barge cruise in Burgundy(fantastic) then returned to Marriott for one last night. First stay had a beautiful suite with an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower. Front desk service was superb. The breakfast buffet was very good perhaps overpriced if it wasn't complimentary however. As platinum members we enjoyed the breakfast but were glad we didn't have to pay 30 Euros. We did use points to stay and think considering the location and service the price was fair. We had a curious jr suite for our second stay where the bathroom is down about 8 stairs from the bedroom. A dangerous scenario in the middle of the night I think. I wonder how many fall down the stairs if they get up in the middle of the night to use the facilities. The hotel is quiet considering we were there for White Night which seems to be an all night drinking party for Parisians. The streets were a mess the next morning but were very swiftly cleaned. The marriott could use a little sprucing up but I enjoyed my stay there very much

Room Tip: Avoid suites with bathroom downstairs

The good- This Marriott is centrally located and close to Metro. The front desk staff is lovely & the cold buffet (for silver & above members) is very good.
The bad- Hotel is very dirty. In our room, the rug and drapes were both stained. Halls need painting and often trash is left sitting in halls for hours. Also, we asked for an upgrade daily and were told there were no rooms with a view available, even though the hotel was very empty. We paid for our stay with points.

Our room was large, but did not have the Eiffel Tower view we had hoped for. Our room safe failed twice, so gave up trying to use it . However the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location of this hotel , just off the Arc de Triomph , with two metro stations in easy walking distance, was excellent. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance too. Overall we would use this hotel again.

Our first trip to Paris and we stayed in Paris for 2 nights at this Hotel. Filthy carpet in rooms. The lobby was decorated with threadbare furniture and not shabby chic. Been a reward member for years, so disappointed. Location great is the only thing positive I can say.
