“A great hotel, for what it is”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

We are halfway through a weeklong stay and so far it has been a pleasurable one. Quite honestly, some of the reviews on here mystify me. If you want quiet, stay outside the city, not in Paris' version of Times Square. And if you want cheap don't stay where 1 bedroom apartments go for 1 million euros. This place isn't noisy but it's also not quiet and it's definitely not cheap. Get over it or stay somewhere else.

It is a bargain if you use points and are a gold or platinum member. Free internet (works pretty good) and continental breakfast (quite good especially the smoked salmon) are worthy perks.

The staff is friendly. They upgraded us after 2 nights. Not ideal but our new room has a balcony and is clean. Our first room was mostly clean too, albeit the bathroom floors could use a good scrubbing.

There is a noticeable middle eastern flavor here but who cares as long as the kids are well behaved - and they are. The lobby is nice. Small but we were always able to find a place to sit. I have yet to see a reserved table(s).

Bottom line is this is only a category 9 because of location; otherwise it is a category 6 or 7 (translate to a category 3 out of 5). It's all about location and convenience here.

This was my third time to stay in this hotel and I was very impressed of the recent refurbishment that was done to it. I have a family of five (all below ten year) and had no problem enjoying the executive room, as of had enough space to cater us all. Just to highlight, it is very hard to find a 5 star hotel in Paris that will allow children below 12 years to stay in the same room as their parents for free. Also, the bathrooms have been increased in size and now there are both a bathtub and a shower.

In terms of location, the hotel is exactly on the famous Champs Élysées where all what you need is near by. As for the daily necessities, you can exit the hotel and walk to the left to find a 24 hours pharmacy and Monoprix supermarket. Exiting the hotel and walking to you right you will find a Starbucks, Paul cafe, and MacDonald. Also, exiting the hotel and cross the road you will find the famous La Duree cafe. With this hotel, I can guarantee that you cannot go wrong.

Stayed at this hotel from March 27 - March 31. Everyone in the hotel from the gentlemen who manned the concierge desk to Jeremie who was in the Guest Relations chair couldn't have been nicer. I will confess I am a platinum Marriott member so we had free breakfast in the hotel restaurant and free Wi-Fi. We had a little trouble with the Wi-Fi at 1st but someone came to our room immediately and took care of it. We never had a problem again. Our room was large and very well appointed. The strawberries/chocolate and champagne was a very nice touch as a platinum welcome gift.

We had fabulous cheese and sausage at the café outside on the Champs-Elysees. We also had a pizza. The portions were so large we took the leftovers to our room for dinner one night.

The hotel couldn't be better located. We loved our stay and will be back.

Room Tip: We were very happy to be in a room away from the Hustle and Bustle of the Champs-Elysees. If you wa...

Surprised this hotel wasn't better rated- great location. I'm platinum with Marriott so was given a nice upgrade- larger room than most and quiet corner. Used points for my stay and thought I had a good deal. Lobby is beautiful and you're in Paris so I'd say get ready to spend a lot of dollars (or a LOT of dollars to buy overpriced euros...isn't it time for that currency to deflate??) I was very happy there- again, surprised it didn't get better reviews.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room

This was a perfect location for the beginning of our trip to Paris. The room although small was well appointed and spotless. The service was extraordinary. All staff that we came in contact with were very pleasant and helpful with the language barrier.

My husband and I stayed here for a week and it was located in the center of the action! We were close to the metro system so after getting a one week pass we traveled everywhere we wanted to go easily. The French fries at the hotel were so yummy, a must try! The room was small but very comfortable.

This is a lovely marriott typical of most Marriott. Rooms nice, clean, fresh smelling, quiet, and comfortable beds. We have had to request a bucket of ice each night for our in room cocktails, bought from a small grocery down a side street for a quarter of the price, the ice was brought by an employee some requesting tips some not. We also forgot a corkscrew and plug in adapter, the hotel allowed us to borrow. Now for the area... Beautiful chaos. The champs is so busy and overly expensive. Restaurants, bars and even retailers charge more, I exchanged money and got even less than the hotel charged, for $100.00 I got $57.60 in return, the bank exchange was $73.00. There is a metro line right by the hotel and it can take you anywhere.
I used marriott points, everyone of them. This is a level 9 hotel so it sucks up the points. The price is listed as $389.00 a night. I doubt I would stay here again now that I know Paris, however, this is a great place and dependable as an expert excellent hotel.
