“Disappointing Overall”
Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

We stayed four nights at the Horset Opera and were underwhelmed in all respects. It does have a good location, close to the Louvre and in the pleasant Opera district. However, the rooms are nothing special, the staff was unhelpful, and they don't even turn on the lights in the common hallways until you fish around for a buttton on the wall. Three star at best.

If you are interested in shopping this hotel is in a very good location, a short walk from the big department stores and the metro.
I prefer the area around the Latin Quarter as it offers more of a Parisian feel and less of the feel of another big city with big department stores.
For Paris standards, the hotel has reasonably sized rooms with well equipped bathrooms.
The rooms are clean and neat and the bed is comfortable. When the window is closed the rooms are quiet.
Continental breakfast was included in the price.
Sadly the aircon is controlled centrally by the hotel. Although there is a thermostat in the room I was informed that I could not put the aircon on, as the hotel was not in summer mode yet.
One day I returned to my room around 13:00pm and it was not cleaned yet.
Another day I returned around 14:00pm to have some rest and in the space of 30 min there was two knocks on the door. One to refill the mini bar and the other from the house keeping manager to see if all was ok with the room.
Also if you need an iron/ironing board you have to ask for one.
Upon check out I was not asked how was my stay etc.
Overall a good hotel if it wasn't for the aircon issue and knocking on my door in early afternoon.

This ideally suited hotel was exactly what we were looking for. It provided clean, well-appointed rooms a little larger than the normal Parisian size. The Buffet breakfast ( Continental with a large variety with cereals, meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, jams and spreads ) was substantial and with great variety and we were told that cooked items were also available if required. Without exception, the staff were friendly and courteous. There was provision for light evening meals which were excellent. Positioned close to Opera Garnier in a quiet side street, with access to Metro, Buses, and RER trains. Easy walking to Louvre, Tuileries etc etc.
All in all, an excellent find. Not a budget hotel but we certainly received great value. Will return for sure !

Room Tip: We had a rear facing room with large bathroom and separate WC. A/c was room controlled and perfectly...

We stayed at this hotel for 2nights in March and can say, without a doubt, that this was a fantastic hotel in a great area..My husband and I had never been to Paris before and we were a little dubious about picking the right area for our stay..well it couldn't have been more easier..the Rossy bus (about 10.50 euros each)from the airport took us straight into L'Opera, and the hotel was a short walk from there and very easy to find..we only took hand luggage so unable to take toiletries, but this wasn't a problem as the hotel provided everything for us eg. Shower gel, shaver and foam, toothbrush/toothpaste, slippers and dressing gown not to mention an iron/ironing board and an umbrella!!! Free WIFI included..Breakfast was typically Continental and buffet style..nothing was too much trouble..
It is true however to say that it is quite expensive to eat and drink wherever you go and we never came across a little supermarket to buy a few snacks..To soak in this great place, take one of the bus tours which is amount 2 hours long and you can hop on/off at any of the monumental stops as buses come about every 15/30 minutes.
Paris is a gorgeous city and we will be visiting again and definitely stay at this hotel again!!!

travelled with my daughter and two teenage grand- daughters. A request for two rooms connecting was confirmed by Reception immediately when I phoned prior to our stay. This was re-assuring for us and we spent 3 very comfortable nights in this small, very well run hotel located on a quiet street around the corner from L'Opera within easy walking distance of Boulevard Haussmann shops but equally an easy walk to the Louvre,Jardin de Tuilleries and the Seine. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: the 5th floor was very quiet and many rooms have small balconies.

Love little hotel 3 minutes walking for the Opera and metro station. Extremely convenient if you're travelling to see Paris. Location is perfect , hotel is lovely, very nice beds, smart decor, wifi.
Can be busy for breakfast as the room is small. The air com in my room wasn't working properly and was a bit too hot.
Definitely will be staying again , when travelling to Paris

Room Tip: Access to your room will be in a tiny lift, so if you have any "fobia" not a good option

This hotel was perfect for our long weekend in Paris. The rooms are small but in good order, very clean and have everything you need. The location is fantastic for site seeing, shopping and eating out. The staff are really friendly and helped us to find some great restaurants nearby. The staff also speak really good English. We would definitely stay here again.
