“Very nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

My wife and I stayed here earlier this month. It is better than a 4 star but not quite 5 star. Its advantages include: its location within walking distance to many Paris sights, friendly staff, clean, nicely decorated, near the train station coming from CDG airport. The breakfast is extra but worth it. You get cereal, eggs, sausage, yogurt, breads, jam, fruit, coffee/tea. The only trouble we had is the mixup on our room request. We asked for a room toward the back to avoid possible music noise from the bar across the street. First we were given a room on the street side but later changed to the back. All in all we recommend it. It has too many things going for it.

Room Tip: There is a bar across the street in case music noise is a problem for you.

Centrally located with metro access literally across the street. Rented 2 rooms one for my parents and one for my wife and I. The size of the room were small but comfortable. One complaint would be no hotwater one morning (wife took a cold shower) and the air conditioning broke in my parents room another night. Due to the A/C being out, their room was extremely warm even for April. I had hoped the staff would have offered to give a discount or something to that extent during our stay or during checkout however none was offered (note: I did not volunteer to ask for any discounts). I probably would have given it a 4 star if not for these instances. Breakfast was good though on the expensive side so we ate at the hotel only one time. Other than the previously mentioned mishaps, the hotel stay was enjoyable.

Room Tip: 4th floor not facing the road are quiter

My wife and I chose the Britannique on the recommendation of a good friend. We stayed there for three nights in late March of this year. From booking several weeks in advance through our entire stay, this was a great experience. At the Britannique, people understand service. I cannot begin to describe how perfect the service is at this hotel. Every question I asked them in advance was answered in a timely manner, and the advice we received was thorough and useful. While at the hotel, we recieved impeccable service. I could not offer a higher recommendation.

This was the first of three hotels on our stay in Paris. Upon checking in we found the staff the friendly, informed and ready to answer any question we had in English. We were very lucky to receive an upgraded room # 22 and we found the room to be just perfect! We had a balcony and were pleastantly surprised. The bed was a king size and the sheets were heavenly . The bed itself was so comfortable we slept like babies. Good beds are hard to find in Europe. We loved the comfy couches in the salon area. I would highly recommend this quaint boutique hotel. We loved the location as well and there were some great restaurants around the block as well as a boulangerie that was very good. Skip the breakfast and have some real French food with the locals. We will be back.

We recently spent 5 nights in Paris with our two boys, 5 and 8 years old. We stayed in a suite that accommodated all of us easily. The decor was charming and the hotel staff was fantastic. All front desk staff spoke very good english. Breakfasts were good and well worth the price. Requests (like extra blankets) were addressed very quickly. On our last day, we had booked an early morning transfer to the train station through a travel agency. When the driver did not show up, the hotel staff immediately made inquiries on our behalf, called a local cab company just in case, and made arrangements with the travel company to pay the cab driver 10 Euros for coming, even though the travel company finally sent its driver (who slept in!)

The location of the hotel was fantastic. Our plane arrived early sunday morning, so we dropped our luggage off in storage at the hotel, and walked across the Seine to Notre Dame cathedral. We also walked to the Louvre from the hotel. The metro station is just around the corner from the hotel, so we also made use of a 3-day metro pass. There is a bakery with wonderful meringues just around the corner, as well as a restaurant called "Chez Benjamin" where we ate frequently.

The hotel elevator is tiny (as they are in most boutique-type hotels in Paris), but my 5 year-old loved going up and down in it!

I have travelled quite a bit in Europe, and I can say this is one of my favourite hotels, especially with a family.

Just returned from our trip to Paris. Was a total surprise for my 30th Birthday all booked by my husband. He chose really well!!! The hotel is in a perfect spot for getting around paris, it was clean and totally my style! The staff were friendly and helpful, we even got upgraded to a balcony room as it was my birthday. My husband had also booked a champagne package with roses and chocolates which were fab! Loved sipping champagne on our balcony looking at the Eiffel tower before heading out for dinner. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Room Tip: get a balcony!

We stayed here for our entire trip (1 week) and we simply loved it. The room was very clean & nicely appointed (had a room on the 5th floor), was a good size room & bathroom, all the staff was tremendously friendly & very helpful -- even coordinated car service to and from the airport for us -- and the hotel overall is absolutely charming. It has an option for a delicious-looking, ample breakfast each morning (although we didn't take advantage). It's located in a great part of the city (1st arrondissement), walking distance from so many wonderful spots (The Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Ile de la Cite/Notre Dame & Saint Chappelle, the Marais). It's also right around the corner from an excellent patisserie; 3 wonderful restaurants (Bar A Manger, Au Vieux Comptoir & Le Robe et Le Palais); a Starbucks (if you REALLY need that); and a small grocery (Monop') is close by. (Our only minor complaint was that the elevator was intermittently out of order during our stay; walking 5 flights after a long day of sightseeing gave us a workout we could have done without. LOL.) Nonetheless, we HIGHLY recommend this hotel and would definitely return ourselves. Thank you to all the staff of Hotel Britannique for making our trip a truly lovely one! Au revoir...Jusqu'à la prochaine fois!
