This has been my third stay at the MOPAR and once again it has exceeded my expectations.

Apart from the luxurious appointments in the rooms, the luxurious bathroom accessories and soft furnishings, apart from all these obvious luxuries there are little touches which make this hotel a cut above the rest. Little things which make a significant difference, like for example the heated and motorised toilet seats, the overnight complimentary shoe cleaning service, the little sweet treats left in the room for you to discover, the complimentary iPad to use in the room. Little things which make one feel special and welcomed.

Add to this an amazing SPA with exceedingly welcoming and professional staff and luxurious treatments, efficient and friendly staff always ready to assist with a smile on their face, and you have an unbeatable contender in the five star hotel market in Paris.

If there is one thing that I can complain about it is the lack of fresh air in the room. The air conditioning system is perfectly acceptable and functions well. However the windows cannot be opened and this is rather unfortunate because sometimes it is refreshing to just let some fresh air into the room. Having said this I am sure that the management will look into this matter because if there is one thing that I am convinced about it is the reassurance that the management and staff at this wonderful luxury hotel are always ready to go out of their way to make one's stay there a memorable one.

Congratulations MOPAR! I will definitely be visiting you again!

My family and I recently returned from a 3 day stay at this hotel. While trying very hard to be a top Paris hotel, it falls far short. Service is very uneven and flustered. Room details are poorly thought out (lighting and tv controls are overly complicated). We had a suite connecting to a bedroom for our children. The suite bedroom was difficult to open as the bedroom tv was placed immediately next to the door. The bathroom windows in the suite were not sound proofed properly so outside noise filtered into the bedroom including early morning workmen. The spa was very disorganized. After paying for drinks in the lobby, I was presented with the same bill not once but twice. Simple things like booking a restaurant or car required numerous calls as staff seemed to flitter in and out of the picture without taking responsbility.
For the price charged, one would be much better off staying at a reputable, proven property like Le Bristol rather than this underachieving but overcharging upstart.

Room Tip: Stay at Le Bristol!

My husband and I stayed in The Mandarin Oriental for a weekend (November 2012). The staff are extremely attentive and very courteous. The room is sumptuous and clean. On arriving in our room, we found we had been left a lovely sweet treat, which was immediately consumed. The reason for our stay was mainly business and partly pleasure and the hotel served both purposes admirably.

We did not eat dinner or lunch but breakfast was superb.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the lack of an easily accessible full length mirror and too few coat hangers. There is a full length mirror on the inside of the cupboard door but it is quite awkward to try and use it.

Room Tip: If you want any spa treatments, book well in advance as the spa is very popular.

Mix of very good taste and service, in the heart of Paris. Superb breakfast just beside a very nice garden (should be very nice to have a meal in the garden when the weather permits). I do not remember having received so much attention in a hotel as received at the Mandarin Paris. The only thing to regreat is the poor light in the rooms.

Room Tip: All the rooms are very nice

Great service. Room was sleek and modern.
Great location, walking distance to lots of tourist attractions.
Delicious breakfast buffett. You could sit outside in the very contemporary garden and enjoy your food.
Every day they left some small cakes, pastries etc. in our room. We loved it!

: The relatively new Mandarin is well located (for walkers) Rue Frauborg St. Honore, near Place Vendome. It has a profusion of helpers at the door and in the lobby, and it is a beautiful contemporary lobby that does not remind one of the Bangkok origins of Mandarin. Lobby service is discreet and helpful. Unfortunely the guest rooms are very poorly designed, a mess. Doors block the way to lavatories. Closets and storage spaces are without light. It is as if the design architect had never stayed in a hotel room. A beautiful but totally useless pair of frosted glass doors setting off the tub. Breakfast was well presented, but around 9:30 am the Camelia Room was filled and unable to accommodate several in our group. Dinner in a private room was very very good, as was the service.
This is, in my opinion, not a hotel for a traveler, but might be ok for the St Honore shopper, though at a very high price.

Room Tip: Look first, confirm after. I suspect most rooms have the same poor layout.
