I booked this because it seemed like a great deal in a convenient, and easy to get around to other locations..
The entrance to the building is on a quiet street but the windows look onto a very noisy street with at least 10 restaurants with people speaking loudly at outdoor cafes late into the night. Because of this I only slept 3-4 hours a night. The proprietor tells you that there's double glazing on the windows but there's no a/c so that you're forced to have the windows open when it's warm!
The coffeemaker inside the flat is a Nespresso which only takes Nespresso pods, not readily available close by. It's not my idea of what you want to do on vacation tracking down a Nespresso dealer. The apartment should have been equipped with a classic type of coffeemaker which would accept any type of coffee from the local supermarket, which is only 1 block away. Either that or the owner should have the Nespresso pods handy in the apartment---I would have gladly paid for them. Any ideas about cooking that I had, I gave up on since the kitchen is teeny-tiny with no room for prepping. So I ended up either eating out or bringing takeout back. That said, the bathroom was nice with a rainhead shower. The owner's son, Adrian, was very nice and accommodating but the owner was very arrogant.
The apartment is very convenient to get around in Paris and to all the attractions. It is a bit small when it comes to space but gives you all the essentials required. It was nice having a washer & dryer and a kitchen. The condition is great. Bring your own toilet paper and laundry detergent. If you enjoy being in a lively area, then this is for you. It did get quite noisy on the streets on the weekends and was difficult to sleep until after 11 pm, when restaurants start to close. Overall, this was a good stay for the value and location. The owner was very helpful and kind for check in and check out.
We booked this after much searching and being our first visit to Paris and the first city in Europe, we were quite uncertain if we had made a mistake.. but oh no.
The apartment is a small studio located in an old building in the heart of the Latin quarter. It has everything anyone could possibly need including combo washer/dryer and even iron & cleverly concealed ironing board.
The Hudson bed was very comfortable and extremely easy to use. We were met by the owners son who was helpful and polite despite that my school girl french was really inadequate. He helped us up & down the flight of narrow stairs with our luggage. Location is sensational. Right on the corner with windows over looking rue de la harpe gave us the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by, and double glazing made it very quiet when closed. We loved it!
