Not pretentious at all, excellent location. I was there just to have a cup of tea and something sweet (a good version of tiramisu) and I found the experience good. No wifi, if that's what you need. Friendly staff.

We stopped by here for a late dinner and deeply enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The waiters were busy -- yet attentive, and the patrons around us felt local, as if they were visiting one of their own institutional.

We stopped again a few mornings later for some breakfast and loved the special. The bread was incredible and the coffee nice a strong.

Looking for Sunday lunch we followed the rules of (1) get out of the tourist hotspots and (2) go somewhere busy. We were amply rewarded with this traditional brasserie in a lovely atmospheric building. The menu combines brasserie favourites like confit de canard and boeuf bourgingnon with imports like burgers and Caesar Salad. My tartare steak was excellent, as were the accompanying chips; and service was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the tarte aux pommes that we chose for dessert had been too long in the display cabinet, so the place just misses an excellent rating. But it is still worth seeking out.

Excellent bistro in an interesting Art Deco building. It is just beyond the tourist areas so mostly French / local clientele. Drinks reasonably priced (for Paris), really good food - especially the confit duck, and friendly staff.

Nice restaurant in the Latin Quarter. Very friendly waiter with a sense of humour. Food was OK but my wife had fish of some sort that was a part of a large fin. Don't know what it was but you have to take a risk sometimes. My pork dish was good. Recommend this for a cheerful value meal and OK quality.
