“Small hotel with a big heart !”
Reviewed 27 April 2012

What this hotel lacks in size and scale, it more than makes up in its quality of service, location and small niceties such as inclusive breakfast, wi fi and afternoon tea.

Want to particularly mention an episode with my blackberry phone - left it in the room but didnt know for sure where or what had happened to it. Called the hotel and reported the matter. They said someone had already checked into my room but would check with the cleaning staff and revert. Got a call back same day saying they hadn't found it. So lost all hope and ordered a replacement. Got another call next day saying they searched again and found it tucked in the safe ! They took my credit card no. and mailed it to me. Received my bb safe and sound. This is what differentiates a good hotel from a great hotel. Had a similar episode with my sweater at the much fancier, 5 star (allegedly) Atlantis Hotel in Dubai - despite contacting them immediately ( definitely left in the room), never recovered, no apologies and encountered rudeness to add insult to injury. So well done Friedland!

My daughter and I stayed here for part of a vacation. The staff was very nice and very helpful. We found the Wifi to be very good despite the frequency of having to log on - it was fast! The breakfast and tea were very good and a great way to save if you have to travel on a budget. We actually found the tea to be sufficient for dinner one night - bread, lunch meats, cheeses, a couple of cold salads. The room was nice enough although the mattresses were a little firm. However if you've traveled all over Paris for the day, you don't really notice. We liked the proximity to the Arc and to the Champs Elysees. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to people who are looking for a good value in Paris.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe room.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in April 2012. I chose this hotel based on past reviews, the location and the free breakfast. I also picked it because they have queen size beds instead of a double since there were two of us. The room was average for Europe standards but it was nice to have a balcony. Bathroom was updated and roomy. Free wifi was nice although it timed out all the time. There was street noise but it wasn't too bad. If you've been walking around all day, you're too tired to care. Breakfast was ok. Bacon, eggs, sausage, bread, cereal, pastries and juice. Tea time buffet wasn't worth it, so don't base your decision on that. Metro was about 5 minutes away. Markets were right down one side street, maybe 2 minutes away. Taxi stand right outside hotel was nice. Free minibar drinks were also a nice plus. We would definitely stay there again.

Me and my wife stayed at the hotel for three nights in april 2012. The location was great especially since I ran the Paris Marathon and had a comfortable walk to the starting line on the Champs-Elysees.

The rooms were fresh and big enough for two persons. Breakfast was ok and they also had a teatime buffet everyday and some free soft drinks in the room. Wi-Fi in our room worked fine. The staff was friendly and helpful. The common areas of the hotel are not very flashy and when we came there we almost missed it since we hardly noticed the hotel from the outside.

All in all we really liked the hotel and warmly recommend it. If you are seeking something flashy with with huge lobby and restaurant Friedland might not be the right option for you. If you are looking for a nice and fresh room to sleep and rest in, good location and a good breakfast you should really consider Friedland when you are shopping for a hotel in Paris.

Great location, just couple of hundred meters away from Champs-Elysées and 500 meters from Arc de Triomphe. Friendly service, free WLAN in the lobby and rooms (though it required constant logging on). Rooms are Ok size, recently renovated bathrooms. Sound isolation could be a bit better, but this is a common challenge in all big cities.

Positive surprises were complimentary glass of champagne, tea buffet between 17:30-20:30 with pastries and some sweet pies. Soft drinks in the minibar were also complementary.

Stayed in this hotel for three nights, found the best value through the hotels own website. it's very close to the Arc d'Triomphe so it was easy to get a bus (Les Cars Air France) from the Charles de Gaulle airport then stroll to the hotel.

We got an incredibly warm welcome from William the receptionist which set the tone for our whole stay at the hotel. Our room was on the fifth floor overlooking the Ave Friedland, it had a tiny balcony from which you could see the Arc. The bedroom was decorated in a really quaint old fashioned style but the bathroom was totally up to date and modern! There was two sets of window doors on the balcony which effectively shut of the street noise. There's free wifi, the snacks in the minibar were complimentary, we also got complimentary glasses of champagne. The breakfast was ideal, a buffet with a wide choice of cold food and a smaller choice of hot food, perfect to set you up for a day of sightseeing!

The hotel is about 5 mins walk from the Arc and 20 mins from the Eiffel Tower. We walked all over the city from here - it was the ideal base to explore Paris!

Dont think I would stay here again. Very small room, although I know this is standard in Europe but this was almost a joke. The free breakfast is ok, just toast really, however the evening one I wouldn't feed the food to my dog. Bed was uncomfortable and I felt like it was tipping down. Would suggest spending a little more and go nicer. However if on a budget probably not to bad.
