“Beautiful hotel in a great location”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

We stayed in this hotel for the first part of our honeymoon in September 2010 (I've just been very slow to review it!!). The rooms and bathrooms were clean and decorated very nicely, and while smaller than a typical American-sized hotel room, our room was a good size for European standards. The hotel was located just about a 10 minute walk from the Trocadero and Eiffel Tower, (and also from a handful of cafes with Eiffel Tower views) in one direction, and a 10-minute walk in the other direction to the Arc de Triomphe. The hotel is off of a quiet street, and within walking distance to plenty of cafes, grocery markets, and boulangeries. The Renaissance also knew that we had just gotten married, and sent up a complimentary small bottle of champagne with chocolates, berries, and a card as a "congratulations" to my husband and I. We really enjoyed everything about this hotel, and would definitely stay here again if we have the chance!

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and modern. It was rainy and damp during our stay so it was nice to have the a/c working. The gin bar made very nice cocktails, but the bar was not very busy. The breakfast was a good European breakfast and the staff were very accommodating. The neighborhood was safe with enough shops and restaurants that you did not need to travel far for dinner if you were tired from a long day.

The location just a 10-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower on a quiet and leafy side street is really lovely. The property itself is quite pretty, with a verdant garden courtyard and tables outside. The Internet was down a good portion of our stay, as was the elevator near our room. Luckily, we were only on the first floor, so didn't mind taking the back stairs even though they were crowded with extra chairs, a mattress, and other storage items.

The concierge, Olivier, attempted to help us get some coveted dinner reservations…and although we were ultimately unsuccessful, he went above and beyond by calling multiple times on multiple days, and then leaving messages about his progress via notes in our room and messages on our cell phones. The Champagne Bar at the nearby Marriott (on rue Lauriston) is lovely, as is Bistro Victor (also on rue Lauriston), where we ate twice. (Get the spare ribs!)

The room was comfortable, if a bit warm by the time we woke up every morning (not sure what was happening to the air overnight). The bathroom was spacious by Paris standards, with a nice shower/tub and Tokyo Milk bath products.

We have another hotel on the Left Bank that we love, so will probably stay there if/when we return, but for my boyfriend's business in La Defense, this was a great option.

I stayed for two nights over Bastille Day and celebrated my 40th birthday here. It was a great hotel, within the neighborhood, and close to the metro and the Eifel Tower. So close that I walked three blocks from the hotel to view the fireworks. And a lovely display they were. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean and gave free water. It was welcomed after a long day of sightseeing. The concierge helped with everything and trust me...I peppered him with questions. The courtyard is beautiful as well. One thing I did not like was having to walk through the courtyard to get to the room. It became a problem when trying to get on the internet. The free wifi was in the lobby only....you had to pay if you wanted it in your room. Which made it inconvenient if you wanted to check your email or do a Skype message to the US. It was a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless.

We got a nice suite with a large king sized bed and a sofa bed for our 2 children. Everything was perfect: A/C, TV, bathroom, beds, etc. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The location is fantastic. You walk to the Eifel Tower in 10 minutes. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood and has a courtyard that make you feel at home. Great restaurant options within a few minutes walking. Breakfast was great. This is the place to stay when in Paris!

My wife and I just stayed at this hotel in Paris for several days. I am a Marriott Gold, so got upgraded to a Prestige room, even though this was a stay on points. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jordan, the night manager. He was expecting us, was very quick to check us in and personally showed us to our room. Because we arrived at dinner-time, he arranged a dinner reservation for us and made it clear that if there was anything we needed, we should contact him.

Our room was on the top floor of the building we were in, at the end of the hall. It was very quiet, which was welcome. The room was spacious by Parisian standards, well-appointed, and well-maintained.

The hotel is just a few blocks from the Trocadero, with phenomenal views of the Eiffel Tower, as well as being situated near numerous restaurants. We only ate in the hotel restaurant for breakfasts. It was typical Marriott/Renaissance breakfast buffet fare, but was very good.

All of the staff are very good and most of the ones we dealt with speak very good English (we have minimal French). I would especially like to (once again) mention Jordan. We had to cut our stay short due to a family emergency (my father-in-law's passing). Even during that, Jordan was very helpful in getting our quick exit from the hotel and passage to the airport arranged. He made everything quick and easy and was very sensitive to the situation, bringing extra tissues for my wife as we waited for the cab and ensuring everything was as hassle-free as possible.

We would gladly stay at this hotel again.

What a beautiful hotel near the Eiffel Tower. Very convenient to subway. Located in a neighborhood and you feel part of the community. The hotel staff was great. Very nice courtyard great for unwinding. We loved the gin bar. Great boulangeries, cheese shoppes, restaurants and grocery stores near by. Loved it!
