“Avoid at all costs”
Reviewed 12 February 2011

This hotel is located near blvd. Malesherbes which is quite a reference in Paris. Everything looks pretty Ok in the outside. But the inside... Depressing rooms with little or no natural light, undermanned, overpriced and with suspicious cleaning habits, monotonous breakfasts and snotty and obnoxious employees. Avoid at all costs.

We stayed for 4 nights with bed and breakfast rate.
The staff were really helpful especially as there were potential strikes on the Paris transport system.
The room was a reasonable size and clean, a bit worn but not excessively so. The buffet breakfast was one of the best we have had in Paris having visited the city regularaly for over 20 years.
There were a few restaurants close to the hotel but if you need a very good variation of cuisine you would need to travel further afield

Arrived with two friends at about 3pm, first impression was whew! glad to see a shiny and clean reception area, we were greeted by a very efficient, English speaking receptionist , she did try to sell us bateau bus tickets as we checked in, which we declined, being too tired to make any plans. Small lift, just big enough to squeeze 3 small adults with baggage but sufficient for the purpose of getting to the upper floors. Room 18 was split into two, it was a quadruple room with two single beds at the front and a double sofa bed just inside the door, all very comfortable. Bathroom fairly roomy with a shower over the bath, efficient room cleaning etc, room very warm but had air conditioning, this was preferable to having the window open as we looked out onto a busy road and a school! both quite noisy. Handy mini market across the road ,good for packed lunch stuff. Loads for the buffet breakfast, altogether very enjoyable. Oh and a short walk from 2 Metro stations Wagram and Malesherbes.

We booked this hotel through lastminute.com. It's actually in a nice area but it is about 7 stops from the city centre. The receptionist was friendly when selling tickets for the bateau mouche but not so when I complained about our room. We booked a suite and weren't expecting much but the rooms stank. The bed in the second bedroom was a fold out sofa. The lights didn't work in the first bedroom. when I told the receptionist she said she'd try and get someone to sort it out and that she couldn't move us as the hotel was full. When we got home that evening the room was exactly the same. My husband spoke to the man on the desk who miraculously found us another room with a camp bed. We were told we would have no reduction as we'd booked with lastminute.com and I'm still waiting to hear from them! I wouldn't go back.

My teenage daughter and myself stayed at this hotel for 6 nights the room was small but the bathroom huge. The hotel was much smaller than I imagined we did have one drink at the bar if you could call it that but it was very expensive so I resorted to the small shop up the road for refreshments. The breakfast was good boiled eggs being only cooked food but choice of toast rolls cereals fruit yoghurts etc. We had a shock when we arrived and were dropped off at the Arch De Triomphe and walked to the hotel (a long walk) and were did this for 2 days before we bought tickets for the metro, buses and RER this was great we found the Wagram metro station just down from the hotel and used this without a problem.
The room was cleaned every day with clean towels . The reception staff were friendly enough and helful. I would stay here again now that I have my bearings and transport into the centre of Paris is on the doorstep.

  • Liked — clean and comfortable
  • Disliked — wardrobe was falling apart and difficult to slide open

Nice friendly staff, you can walk into the centre of Paris or catch a no. 31 bus, just outside the hotel, very convenient for tired legs! Rooms 17, 27, 37, 47, 57 and 67 are all very small and not to be recommended. We had room 27, very small, but very clean. The bathroom is tiny and you can't turn around in the shower. I'm quite slim and it was difficult for me. The breakfast was lovely, however, there are only 30 seats for a hotel with over 60 rooms, fortunately we didn't have to wait for a table, but some people did.

For a few days in Paris this hotel is ideal. It is located near a Metro station in a traditionally Parisian residential district. There is a lovely patisserie almost next door and a couple of inexpensive eateries a short walk away. There is also a small music hall nearby which seems to have low key musical events on most nights.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good but quite expensive if not included in the package.

The room was small and simple despite being classed as "superieur" but was very clean . The beds were hard which I liked.

On the negative side the room was uncomfortably hot for me despite there being no heating on. We had the fan on and the window open but still found it hot. There was also a problem with the sink which drained very slowly but didn't disturb us enough to report it.

There is a TV and minibar.

If you are looking for a luxurious hotel to spend a lot of time in, this isn't the one for you but if you are looking for a clean hotel to sleep and breakfast in while exploring Paris this would be ideal. I would go back.
