This was a beautiful hotel with a classic, “old-world” charm. We arrived a little before noon and the hotel was nice enough to grant our request for an early check-in. The staff (reception, doormen, concierge) was friendly, professional, and efficient…we couldn’t have ask for more! We booked 3 rooms, although each a little bit different with regard to style and décor, they all had the same amenities. The room, including bathroom, was spotless and the bedding divine…crisp sheets, fluffy duvet, and 2 types of pillows! Additionally, all six of us felt the mattress was perfect with regard to firmness. All of the rooms had built- in wardrobes with 2 closets and a set of drawers; also, a mini- refrigerator and a safe. The bathroom had the half-glass shower enclosure that is typical in Europe, a bidet, and powerful hairdryer. If you are tiny in stature, or have bad knees, it is a little difficult to climb in and out of the tub which is a bit elevated and has high sides. My best advice is to request a room with a shower or an accessible room. We approached the front desk with this issue and although they did not have any special rooms available, they expediently retrofitted the room with a rubberized step stool which did the trick!! The website perfectly depicts the lobby and common areas…just beautiful! There were many quaint little areas where a group could sit and relax discussing the sites of the day over a glass (or bottle) of wine! The location of this hotel is fabulous, just a 2 minute walk to the Louvre and a 3 minute walk to the Metro. There are numerous cafes and brasseries in the area, as well as, souvenir shops. The Tuileries Garden is across the street and we easily walked to the Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysees…you can’t beat the location! As you may have guessed, we loved this hotel…I wish I could return tomorrow!! We will definitely be back!!
Only negative...We did not eat breakfast in the hotel mainly because of the 34€ price ($45 usd), but this was not a problem because there are many cafes in the area. The bar was also pricey…20€ ($27) for a cosmopolitan.

Room Tip: The hotel was proactive with regard to informing us of the current construction. Honestly, I would n...

Dear valued guest,

I would like to thank you for sharing your impressions following your recent stay at the Hotel Regina. We are so appreciative of feedback from our guests, and most especially when it is so positive!

I enjoy reading your review, especially as you have summed up so succinctly all that makes our hotel so special…”classic, old-world charm” is a nice comment. The Hotel Regina is proud of the unique ‘hospitality savoir-faire’ that has been the backbone of its success since 1900 and is the quintessence of the French-style art of living.

It’s a pleasure to know you loved our hotel, its décor and especially our comfortable bedrooms. The housekeeping team is meticulous in maintaining standards and enjoy being creative in devising amenities to please our customers. I am glad to read they also find promptly a solution for you to easily climb in and out of the tub. We strive to ensure all the small details are taken care of so that we can create an unforgettable experience for each and every one of our guests.
Kindly know that your appreciation means a lot to us and that I have been delighted to share it with all the staff.

We like to consider our hotel as an oasis of calm amongst the buzz of a vibrant city. The cozy English bar recalls a London club. Subdued lighting, wood paneling and armchairs upholstered in red velvet; it's an ideal spot for a quiet chat over a drink at any time of the day or evening. Sonds like you and your friends had a nice relaxing time here… with few bottles of wine! Did also you get the chance to taste our delicious Ladurée pastries served at the bar and at the restaurant? To die for...

I also appreciate your feedback with regards to our central location; nestled between The Louvre museum and the Tuileries Garden, our hotel is perfectly positioned to explore all Paris attractions.

Our clients can choose between a full buffet breakfast or continental breakfast and our prices are the same applied by any 4* deluxe hotels in Paris. Of course there are plenty options just around the corner for those who just need to grab a coffee/tea and “croissants”. According to the dates you can also easily find different special offers including breakfast on our new website.

We are delighted that you cannot wait to return, as we cannot wait to welcome you back to experience many of the other amenities the hotel has to offer.
Hearing from our guests is so important to us, as it keeps us inspired to provide over and above service on a daily basis. Again thank you for your wonderful review.

We are looking forward to welcoming back very soon for another enchanting break at the Hotel Regina Paris.

Best Regards,

We stayed at the Hotel Regina from 17/10-20/10 before a business conference and enjoyed our stay very much. It is across the street from the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens, and in a very nice area for walking. The hotel is well maintained and undergoing a significant renovation on the exterior which made the rooms with a view of the Eiffel Tower unavailable. The first time I stayed at it years ago, there was a huge commotion outside which turned out to be the final stage of the Tour de France. The staff is very nice and learned our names even though this time we stayed only a very short time.

Room Tip: Try to speak with the hotel staff when booking to discuss the available rooms as there are many choi...

Dear Mark S,

Thank you for choosing to come back to the Hotel Regina and for taking the time to post this extremely thorough and kind review. Guest feedbacks on travel sites and especially on TripAdvisor are of great values for independent properties like ours. Merci beaucoup!

I am pleased to read how much you enjoyed your whole experience.

The central location of our hotel is ideal for both the business and leisure traveler, easy access and within walking distance of many of Paris’s iconic sights, including the Louvre Museum, the Tuileries Garden, Place Vendôme, Concorde, the Opera... as well as shopping in the famous St Honoré street or boulevard Haussman (Galeries Lafayette, Printemps) or even St Germain which is 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Nothing is too much trouble for our dedicated team. We truly want our guests to feel like at home; excellent service comes from employees who care about every detail and identify our guests by their names is very important for us. Our aim is to make your stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.

Our historical hotel built in 1900 is currently undergoing step by step a makeover in order to better meet our distinctive clientele requirements. The new décor will combine French elegance and a twist of modernity, while respecting the historical spirit of the site. For the coming months our rooms facing the Eiffel Tower are not available, however we offer other options. There is a unique room for everyone at the Hotel Regina, as well as personalized recommendations to ensure a truly unforgettable stay. Our spacious suites (one bedroom with separate living room and 2 bathrooms) facing our lovely inner courtyard are also a perfect for a romantic escapade.

We all look forward to welcoming you back to the Hotel Regina for a few cosy nights away. Why not come back end of July 2014? It is true that during the Tour de France, our rooms & suites facing the Tuileries Garden are the best spot to watch the riders riding-up rue de Rivoli, round the Tuileries and the Louvre museum. The renovation of the hotel will be over so it will be the best opportunity to enjoy this major French event from your room!

Kindest regards,

But not TOO upscale...not the Ritz or George V. It is a grand old dame. Parts are undergoing renovations.

It has one of the best views in Paris if you grab room 205 or 305 (you'll pay for it, tho). Even so, those rooms have great antique furniture (or fabulous reproductions), and an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower. You can lay in bed and watch the lights go off at midnite.

Staff is super attentive, and speak multiple languages, including English.

Skip the breakfast, which, like most amenities, is outrageously overpriced. Tho still pricey, the little cafe across pl. des Pyramides is better and far less expensive.

When I want upscale and near lots of things (across from the Louvre), this is the place

Room Tip: 205 and 305 have fabulous views

Dear valued guest,

Thank you very much for making the Hotel Regina Paris your home in the capital and for sharing your experience in such a lovely way! Being your favorite “upscale” hotel is a great honor for us.

It was a real pleasure to read you enjoyed our unique decor & atmosphere. The Hotel Regina strives to give guests an unforgettable experience laced with an authentic flair and a blend of warmth, comfort and French “Art de Vivre”. The hotel was built in 1900 for the World’s Fair and is currently undergoing a makeover in order to better meet our distinctive clientele requirements, and to offer them the best high level of quality services to enhance their future stay with us. In 2015 the Hotel will celebrate its 115 years so it was time for this “old grand dame” to get ready for this future celebration!

We were truly delighted to know that you appreciated our location, our service and your accommodation overlooking the Tuileries Garden and the Eiffel Tower.
Our hotel is located accross the Louvre Museum, facing the Tuileries Gardens, few steps from the famous St. Honoré street, the Opéra district with the main shopping malls… Paris, Paris, there are so many things to do & see and so many reasons to come back!

Your wonderful comments on our service and staff are the best compliments you could ever make to us. They are a nice reward to our continuous effort to meet our clients' expectations. Merci!

Thank you again for the courtesy of your time and we all look forward to welcoming you again soon at the Hotel Regina for your next stay in our lovely "City of Lights".

Our first time at the Hotel Regina. Very nice grand old hotel undergoing renovation. We got here on 9-20-13 and will be leaving on 9-26-13. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location, close to museums, shops and the Metro. My only complaint at all is that the bed in room #001 is very firm, much firmer than I like. It feels like sleeping on a carpeted floor. I asked the front desk staff after the second night if there was anyway it could be changed to something softer, and they said no. Our room seems to have already been updated with the renovation. Our friends are here also in another room (not yet renovated) with a soft bed and even they agree that our bed is very firm. There's nothing wrong with that if you like an extra firm mattress (a small percentage of people may), but most hotel mattresses are much softer.

Room Tip: Avoid room #001 unless you like an extra firm mattress.

Dear valued guest,

Thank you for choosing the Hotel Regina for your Parisian gateway and for taking the time to post your comment while you stay with us until September 26th.

We are happy that our elegant Belle Epoque hotel and its location are at your convenience. The Hotel Regina is perfect to explore all the symbols of French culture: it is across the street from the Louvre and just a few steps away from the Comédie Française Theatre and the Garnier Opera House. Every year, top haute couture and prêt-à-porter designers choose our hotel, the Carrousel du Louvre and the Tuileries Gardens to hold their fashion shows. Paris Fashion week has just started so I hope you will have the opportunity to attend a fashion show…a must!

As you and your friends are currently staying a week with us, and despite the busy period, we kindly upgraded you into two suites facing our inner courtyard garden. Your spacious suite has been completed renovated more than one year ago and has become the favorite suite of a famous French singer. I am sorry if you find the bed too firm. When you reported this information, and eager to satisfy you, our housekeeping manager immediately put mattress overlays on your bed. To apology for this inconvenience, we also bring to your room (and friends too) some delicious macaroons from Ladurée.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Front desk or concierge team during your stay if you need more assistance.

Again thank you for this review. I wish you a wonderful stay at the Hotel Regina for your last days and we are already looking forward to welcoming back soon.

Sincerely Yours,

Dear fhauter,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay at the Hotel Regina.

Whilst I am pleased to read that you appreciated our central location and the charm of our décor, I am disappointed to hear that your experience at the Hotel Regina did not live up to our usual level of service.

I am sorry if your room attribution was not reflected your expectation. All of our rooms are unique and of different shapes/configurations containing different size beds (of course we do we do have bed also on 1.60m ). If you decide to give another chance, please do not hesitate to mention your preference directly to our reservations department and according to our availability they will delighted to find the best suitable room for you.

I will take in consideration your remark regarding the cappuccino and will see in the future to offer a broad range of coffee options.

Nevertheless, rest assured we have taken note of your comments and corrective actions will be made.

This was the third time I stayed at Hotel Regina. When comparing hotels in Paris, I am very cognizant of distance to the Metro, whether it is a good area to just walk around and the proximity of good restaurants.
When younger, I stayed in the 3* hotels in Montparnasse, but now I trade around between the Hotel Regina and several other nice hotels just off the Champs Elysees. The Metro is not only close, it is on the #1 line, which runs up the Champs Elysees and beyond the Arc de Triomphe.
Last year, I used Marriott points to stay at the Marriott directly on the Champs Elysees, but was not nearly as comfortable - in every aspect - as we were at the Regina.
The breakfast buffet is lovely, although it starts a little late, and the people at the front desk are very gracious. Our room had a view of the Louvre, just across the street, but opening the window we could see across the Tuilleries Gardens and all the way to the Eiffel Tower.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Louvre, with partial views of the Tuilleries and the Eiffel Tower
