This hotel is undergoing renovation but the hotel staff made everything very comfortable for us. My wife and I were initially booked in a room not to our liking. We asked to be upgraded considering that we were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary that time! The reception staff readily upgraded us to a better and much larger room with a good view --- AT NO EXTRA COST --- for the next 4 nights that we were booked there. This made our stay in Paris so comfortable and memorable. Thank you, Regina Hotel!!! Merci beau coup!

Dear M. Mrs de los Santos,

Thank you for taking the time to post a glowing review of your stay at the Hotel Regina. It was a pleasure to read your comments and feedback, and a privilege that you chose to celebrate your 41st wedding anniversary with us. For over 100 years we have been a peaceful hideaway for couples to kindle their romance and we are so honored you chose to spend this special occasion with us.

It was a pleasure to read your positive comments about every aspect of the hotel and that you found the service second to none from the point of arrival with your complimentary room upgrade to your departure.

We pride ourselves on providing our guests with intuitive, personalized service delivery and on ensuring that all guests feel welcome and completely at home. I am delighted that our entire team provided you with an exceptional experience.

Again thank you very much for the courtesy of your time. We are now looking forward to welcoming you back to the Regina in a not too distant future to renew this French experience. Upon arrival and discovering the entire building was under renovation we still had high hopes after seeing the beautiful reception. We were asked to wait a few minuets due to a problem with the tv in our room and then were told they had found a different room for us, But after seeing a room with a view of a dirty wall and a bathroom without a working shower I asked to see the original room to which I was told another guest had already checked into it and could only change rooms for an extra charge. The only saving grace is the location which I assume is why it is extremely over priced.

Dear Sir,

I would like to thank you for choosing the Hotel Regina for your stay in Paris. Your comments are highly valued and I am very concerned that the Hotel Regina did not fulfill your expectations. The renovation of our hotel is clearly informed to all our clients and partners. For reservations made directly with us we send a detailed letter with what’s going on at the hotel. Your reservation was made via an online travel agency but again the information about our makeover is mentioned on their website.

It is true that the scaffolding covering the façade looks impressive but, as you wrote, inside our majestic Lobby there are no constructions or works. Surprisingly and despite our renovation, we had a fashion show and a pop-rock concert inside our lobby in January 2014 (anyone can see the pictures on our facebook page).

I am very sorry if your room attribution did not suit you. With a limited number of rooms available during this period it is not always easy to offer all the different options we usually have. The day after your check-in we gave you the choice to move to other room but you declined. I came myself to your room to apologize but unfortunately you were not willing to speak to me. I asked our F&B manager to bring a bottle of champagne to your room with a note from me.

We make consistent efforts to analyze both the positive and negative impressions of our guests in order to continue improving on the positive experiences and to recognize & correct our shortcomings.

I hope you will give us another chance and will come back after spring 2014 when the main refurbishment of rooms will be over.

Sincerely Yours,

General Manager

Don't even think of staying anywhere else when you visit Paris! If you do, you will miss out on this charming and elegant Parisian treasure.

We were in Paris on a business trip and the company chose and paid for this hotel. The hotel is gorgeous. The decor in the public areas is like something you would find a master artist designed and this extends even to the breakfast areas and most definitely to the rooms. It doesn't get any better than this. The color schemes are both lovely and relaxing. This is like going to visit the royal family in Versailles years ago, a place fit for royals.

The suites are so spacious with large yet cozy sitting rooms and big bedrooms. The views from the rooms will take your breath away- literally- for they are iconic Paris attractions. The bedrooms are stunning and the beds are so firm! Firm beds are always a great amenity. The appointments in the room, like those throughout the hotel, are sumptuous and classy. The closet space is surprisingly large.

The bathrooms are wonderful. They offer upscale amenities and you can get a glass-enclosed shower. I don't take baths, only showers so this is perfect for me. Bathrooms are large.

One of the best things about the hotel is the staff. From doormen, bell hops, and reception staff to concierges, wait staff at the restaurant, and housekeeping, everyone is friendly and welcoming and willing to help. And yes this means everyone. You can even ask the housekeepers for their favorite places in Paris and they, as locals, really help you discover hidden goodies in the city.

Location couldn't be better. You can walk right to the Louvre and the Tuilaries Garden. The metro is minutes away.

They are renovating and yes, there is some noise, but it is not a reason to not stay and is not super-loud and won't keep you awake.

The full breakfast buffet is pricey but oh-so-worth it. The best things are the fresh berries and fruit, organic cereals, and the luscious French pastries and croissants. This is THE way to start the day and this breakfast will hold you over until the afternoon!

If you are looking for a great place to stay in Paris, look no further. This is it.

Room Tip: Get a suite. They are grand.

Dear Terri L,

On behalf of the entire team of the Hotel Regina, I would like to thank you for this extremely enthusiastic and heartwarming review. We are over the moon to be called by a Top Contributor with 149 reviews "Best Hotel in Paris” or “don’t stay anywhere else when in Paris”. Your words are so generous, and we sincerely thank you!

We are delighted to learn that we were able to leave a lasting impression during your stay at the Hotel Regina. We are glad you found “gorgeous” our hotel and décor. Did you know that our historical hotel was constructed on the site of the Louvre Palace royal stables and was opened in 1900 for the World’s Fair?
The Hotel Regina offers an intimate and relaxing haven for those found of French Art Déco style. In the very heart of the trendy district which is home to fashion designers, shopping and museum, the hotel is the ideal place to explore Paris.

As you kindly mentionned, we do our best to cater to every special request and to offer a true personalized experience to each of our guests. Our teams have a great eye for detail down to the smallest item. We really do appreciate your feedback as our guests experiences are our highest priority. Please be assured I have passed your kind words onto the team, they are very grateful to hear such comments!

Thank you also for highlighting the quality of our breakfast. Next time, if you come back during summer time, I hope you will have the opportunity to enjoy a lunch in our lovely relaxing courtyard and don’t miss our Ladurée cakes or ice cream…to die for!

We all hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for further memories and to become your home in Paris. A bientôt.

We will never forget New Year 2013/14 in Paris and this wonderful hotel experience.
As soon as you enter the lobby you know that you're somewhere very special and the reception staff welcome confirms this. We had been told about the 2 year refurbishment programme and had hesitated over whether to stay here. As it turned out we heard almost nothing of the work going on - we usually sleep in till at least 10am. Our garden suite had been freshly renovated and was a joy to stay in; we had been shown up to it personally by the reception manager, and a dazzling array of beautifully wrapped seasonal gifts awaited us. The housekeeping is impeccable and the concierge team competently answered our every query making suggestions and bookings for us daily - we are very demanding! The location - right next to the Louvre Palace, is stunning and Opera and shopping streets are easily walkable. Paris' top night club is nearby, as are fantastic brasseries, Comedie and the exclusive Place Vendome which all made our stay so memorable. A huge plus was the superb rate we were given which beat all the competition of the same luxury class. This hotel and its charming staff look after you and you never cease to delight in this unbelievable location. Staying at the Regina makes you feel special at a very affordable price. Don't miss the chance to stay at this stunning property in Paris. We can't wait to be back. Thank you all!

Room Tip: Book a Garden Suite - it really is well worth it.

Dear James O,

Thank you for your exceptionally kind words about the hotel Regina and for your five star on TripAdvisor following your recent stay with us over New Year 2013/2014.
.
I'm thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us and we are honored to be called “delightful grandeur”. Merci!
As you mentioned our property is a historic one and provides guests a glimpse into some old world luxury.

I am happy to hear you enjoyed the décor of our spacious Garden Suite and appreciated your VIP welcome with the seasonal fruits in your room.

I am delighted to read that every aspect of your stay was up to your expectations and that you were sensible to the services of our team. I have passed on your comments to our staff , especially the reception, concierges, and housekeeping, who were humbled and pleased to have received such high commendations.

We are so lucky with our prime location being just moments from many of the highlights that Paris has to offer. It makes seeing everything so easy and many of the top spots are only a few minutes stroll from the Hotel Regina. it sounds as though you were able to take advantage of that.
Don't you think Paris is magical! There is always a good reason to come to Paris all year round.

We shall do our very best to be up to the generous note you kindly awarded us after your first stay with us.
Again thank you for the courtesy of your time. We are all looking forward to welcoming back soon for your future Parisian gateway. In the meantime do not hesitate to follow us on Facebook !

The staff was professional, friendly, and the location of the hotel was wonderful with easy access to many places.
The room we were assigned at first was one of adjoining rooms with sound carrying very easy. We asked the hotel to change the rooms. The new room was a bit smaller than the other one and bed was also small for two people (we are average-sized Japanese). But the décor of the rooml was filled with charms such as sumptuous curtain fabrics and lights.
If you don’t mind the noise of renovation during day time and paint smells, the hotel is recommendable.
