We stayed at the Regina again (we were there last year as well) for 2 nights. While we had a suite las year (with wonderful view of he Tuileries and Louvre) we booked a Deluxe Room this time (because the Suite was not available). The Regina is renovating all rooms in 2014 so there were only 2 floors available. Our room was on the inside, facing the courtyard. This meant that we had no problems with streetnoise but of course the view was less exciting. However as we were hardly in the room it was no problem. I would suggest however that the online booking system allows selecting either courtyard room or streetview room so you know what to expect. We had one issue in our room: none of the BBC channels (1,2,3) worked. We reported it and someone came immediately but could not fix it. It did not get fixed while we stayed at the hotel. But the Free Wifi works very well so we watched our favorite shows online.
The breakfast was still lovely. I just wonder why they replaced the floor of the breakfast room. The old "parquet" floor was lovely and gave the room a cozy atmosphere. The staff (desk and valets) is still as helpful and welcoming as ever. So overall still a great hotel in the middle of Paris.

Room Tip: if you want a streetview or courtyard view then mention when booking but remember that courtyard vie...

Dear Peterp_belgium,

Thank you for posting a glowing review of your stay at the Hotel Regina Paris. We love welcoming back returning guests, and are delighted you enjoyed your second stay.

I am glad to know you appreciated the quiet Deluxe room facing our inner courtyard patio and all the fine facilities the hotel has to offer. However I would like to apologize for the inconveniences you encountered with the BBC Channels and please rest assured that this problem has now been resolved.

Following our recent renovation, three floors have now been completely revamped and the fourth floor will be finished in August. All our new decor elements are French made, complying with the hotel identity and keeping its historical soul. To optimize the comfort of our guests, significant investments have been made in air conditioning, soundproofing and new technologies (high speed Wi-Fi…).
Our famous Suites Tour Eiffel are now available again and they offer a bright new look… so Parisian, so Chic! Please do not hesitate to admire a glimpse of our new rooms on our website or facebook page.

It’s a pleasure to read your appreciation for our breakfast. Our restaurant has been tastefully redecorated by mixing our antique chairs (with a new beige fabric) with comfortable sofas or high tables. Our beautiful Art Déco fireplace “Majorelle” has been preserved. The old parquet was indeed lovely but unfortunately it was too damaged so it has been replaced by a new one.

Thank you also on behalf of our teams for mentioning them, it is true that everyone does their best to offer a caring and personalized service in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The team at Regina can't wait to welcome you back as a regular returning guest for another “great experience”! Please hurry back to try our new Suite Tour Eiffel!

A trés bientôt

Excellent location right opposite the Louvre, you can walk into the Tuileries...pop into the fabulous orangerie walk across the pont to the left bank and be stunned by the Musee d'Orsay ... Walk your feet off in Paris!! Pricey hotel, don't try room service...10€ for ice !! But great location if you have a few days in Paris to see the sights!

Fantastic boutique hotel centrally located which is very family friendly.

Travelling with 2 children, we were very impressed with the effort this hotel placed on making the children comfortable with their own dedicated room, toiletries, robes/slippers and facilities in general.

A VERY family friendly hotel with extremely friendly staff... we would have no hesitation staying with this hotel again in the future.

Room Tip: For a family with 2 children, the family room is brilliant and very roomy. This hotel loves kids.

Dear « downunder » guests,

Thank you for posting a glowing review of your recent stay at the Hotel Regina and for highlighting the key points that makes the hotel so special. Guest feedbacks on travel sites and especially on TripAdvisor are of great values for independent properties like ours!

I am glad to know you had a wonderful Parisian escapade with your family and it’s a real pleasure for us to read you liked our all the little attentions & goodies provided to your two children.
At the Regina the children are the stars and we love them! We offer good options for families including connecting rooms, family rooms/suites and children always get a little gift surprise according to their age. Plus during summer months (between 12th July and 29th August 2014) they can enjoy our kids’ playroom with a large variety of toys, books, consoles, video games, DVD…and more gifts surprises! Do not hesitate to like & share our facebook page with the picture of our kid’s playroom! On our website we also have a nice “family e-brochure” with more information.

Again, we thank you for your time, and we are looking forward to welcoming you soon again in our “very family friendly hotel”.

Five nights stay 480 euro per night is too much for this shabby room, don't waist your time and money here. 10 meters concrete fence just in front of your sight, mini-bar doesn't work and even this is locating in a small wardrobe thougt it's free of charge, hot water pressure is very law, thin walls and door hearing every words from next room even dogs fawning sound at midnight. Pets must be prohibited in this hotel but ..... ,this means if you ask the hotel staff then they permit, what a commercialism. No pictures on the wall, a small flat TV, being stuck door, yes, the revolving door at the entrance too.
They say that the hotel has renovated but not, not at all, at least my 2 rooms including one I got after dog cry. The atmosphere of the district is not very good either, if you think the hotel is just beside the Louvre then you make mistake. Once again, don't make mistake like I did.

Room Tip: If you dare to go there then I recommend a room on floor E where you will remind how Verlaine felt o...

Dear valued guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay at the Hotel Regina Paris. We always welcome constructive feedback as an opportunity to improve our service standards and facilities. I am deeply sorry that you were not satisfied of your stay and would like to apologize for the problems you encountered. I sincerely regret that your experience was less than perfect in regards to the room. We were fully booked during this period but our Front Office manager did her utmost to find a solution for you and she did move you to another room. Upon check-out we also gave you a discount.

I am really surprise by your comment regarding our location and the “atmosphere of the district”. TripAdvisor guests gave us the highest score (5) for our location and we are just moments away from many of the highlights that Paris has to offer: St Honoré street, Place Vendôme, Concorde, Orsay museum are only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. On the left corner of the hotel’s entrance, if you walk five minutes alongside the Rivoli Street you will find one of the entrance for the Louvre museum and you will arrive under the pyramid. This is the best entrance to avoid the queues and you can escape them completely by buying in advance “fast entrance ticket”. Our concierges Clés d’Or are always pleased to sell museum tickets to our guests and to give them tips & recommendations to enjoy the best of Paris.

I hope that you will decide to stay with us again and allow us to make up for any shortcomings you experienced.

Kindest Regards,

My daughter and I came to Paris for a special weekend. Very dssapointing. We arrived only to b placed in a Deluxe room at the back of the Hotel - views of other windows and part of the courtyard. The corridor to the room was old and tired and smelt very strongly of paint. I complained and was told in no uncertain terms that nothing could b done. When I went to check out the next morning only then a 'cancellation, was miraculously found ad I was offered a suite upgrade but still no views. To give the manager credit he did just charge us for one night only reduced by 15% but it still amounted to $700 AUS. Total waste of money for what we got. The renovations may improve this hotel but I have my doubts. In any event the website totally misrepresents the property in my view so beware!

Dear Triptycoon,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feeling about your stay at the Hotel Regina. Your comments are very important to the management and the team, for reflection, and off course to take action in order to always improve our service. We are very disappointed that we failed to exceed your expectations in this instance.

I would like to apologize if your room attribution did not suit you. June is always a very busy month in Paris and unfortunately we were fully during your stay. Once we had a cancellation, our Front Office manager immediately offered you an upgrade to one of our lovely suite overlooking our courtyard patio, plus we did a significant effort by charging you only for one night.

Since last year, a huge investment has been done to revamp the hotel and we still have few more rooms to do to complete the renovation. Furthermore, I very much guarantee that all of our photos are genuine and are not there to fool our guests.
We have different room styles and rooms with a view on the Tuileries Gardens that could be more to your liking. If you decide to give us another chance and stay with us again our team would be delighted to make you visit different rooms so you find one that matches your expectations.

I hope that this experience will not deter you from a future visit, as we very much look forward to welcoming you as a returning guest.

370 euro for night in a small, french-style decorated room that could be refreshed seems too much money. Even if the hotel has probably some charm (when we were there, all was covered by plastic as they were renovating, so difficult to tell) and is very close to the Louvre and the people very friendly. I know Paris is expensive, but then you better take an international one with all comfort...

Dear Orlando01,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay at the Hotel Regina.
I am glad to read you enjoyed our prime location and found our team very friendly, however I am deeply disappointed to know your room did not meet your expectations. We always strive to ensure that all of our guests are able to enjoy a true Parisian experience and it appears on this occasion that we have failed.

I would like to apologize if your room attribution did not suit you. June is always a very busy month in Paris and with a limited number of rooms available during our renovation period it is not always easy to offer all the different options we usually have.
Since last year, a huge investment has been done to revamp completely the hotel. We have now welcomed the first happy clients who stayed in our new rooms. All our new decor elements are French made, complying with the hotel identity and keeping its historical soul. To optimize the comfort of our guests, significant investments have been made in air conditioning, soundproofing and new technologies (high speed WiFi…).
The makeover aimed to keep the hotel prestige, simplicity and discretion. The goal was to preserve the classic French elegance of the hotel.

I would very much welcome the opportunity to restore your faith in the Raphael Paris. I hope that you will decide to stay with us again and allow us to make up for any shortcomings you experienced.

Please not hesitate to contact me directly next time
