“Good place to stay”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

The hotel Pullman is located in Bercy village. It has been updated since I last stayed there and the new look reception is very different.
Bercy village is what I would describe as a yuppie fast food area & not at all traditional France. The bars & eateries are many but not always what one wants to see when visiting the French capital.
The location is not far from the river Seine which offers pleasant walk andis located only a few minutes walk from the nearest metro station which connect with main line trains at the Gare De Lyon.
At the GDL or a little further on at bastille more traditional restaurants and bars can be found.
The hotel itself is modern with good AC & noise insulation, the only real discernable noise from the exterior was in the early morning when the nearby major road noise on the river bank could be heard - if you listened for it. Interior sound insulation proved to be excellent.

The room itself was a typical modern hotel room but there were some flaws:-
The matress cover was soft on the adge and provided no lateral support.
The TV was a waste of time - take your own entertainment.
There were things that didn't work in the bathroom - only half the mirror light worked, the speaker didn't function.
Other lets down's - water was provided but no glasses to drink it from.
Tea & coffee was available but only cheap and nasty cardboard cups were provided.

Breakfast was not taken as fresh fruit etc. was vailable at much more sensible prices.

All in all a good place to stay but the details let the hotel down, I am not sure why Accor allow this as the cost of the hotel should enable them to provide decent things.

Plus: Super comfortable bed, clean room, spacious bathroom, odor free, iron in the closet, very stylistic lobby - bar - reception, receptionist very helpful with everything, most important : had asked for double bed and early check in and got both ! The two big bonsai trees at the entrance were quite cool and found the japanese- minimalistic style interesting. It is mostly a business hotel which can provide tourists with good service as well. Also mportant: We never heard a sound from other guests or cleaning ladies etc etc. Very close to the metro station and the Bercy area is very nice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you dont want to be surrounded by other tourists this is the place for you.
Minus: never saw the daily complementary water bottles in the room, the window didnt close properly, the water hose in the bathroom was leaking, bar closes at 1 am (Greeks go out for drinks at 1 am.. After a long day wanted to have a drink at 1.04 am and bar was already closed), aslo was expecting better view since we were on the 6th floor looking toward the river. It was the first time in years we didnt take breakfast in the hotel cause 25 euros per person is quite extravagant. Bar prices also very expensive. Would recommend either way, however if small things were corrected and breakfast was included in the price would recommend more enthusiastically.

Room Tip: Ask for one of highest floors for less noise - double bed is excellent

Nice hotel! We got a good deal for our 4 nt break by booking about 2 months in advance on a last minute website, and paid less than half the standard daily room rate. Hotel is very convenient for the tube into the city, about 10 mins. Friendly and helpful at reception. We stayed in a superior room (cheapest option) which was spacious with a big comfy bed, a desk, a table and chairs, and floor to ceiling windows. Nice touches with Roger & Gallet toiletries in bathroom, slippers, dressing gown, a safe and a mini fridge with 2 small bottles of water (not replenished). Double doors to the bedroom a great idea, soundproof from the corridor and the thoughtless people shouting one end to the other in early/late hours. There seemed to be a problem with Air Conditioning, thermo turned right round to min 12° but room still warm. Got quite uncomfortable with hairdryer running also. Asked a housekeeper, but she turned thermo UP, which made it worse. Can't imagine what it will be like in summer, with those floor to ceiling windows and the sun shining in... Bar was expensive at €10/pint, far better to go into Bercy village, a 2 min walk, where The Frog 'happy hour' lasts from 5-9pm. Or indeed, go into the city. If you like a decent cup of tea in the morning, bring your own teabags and ask at bar for mugs. A kettle is provided in room, but poor selection of teabags and... paper cups!! Honestly??! Also helpful to know, they offered to look after our bags on check out, giving us the opportunity to explore one last time before our train home.

My Partner and I stayed here recently for 2 nights.

We found the hotel to be just right for our needs. Whilst not located in the center of Paris, it is only a short ride on the metro and the station is couple of minutes walk away,

We arrived very early, around 10:30am on the day of check in. We said we would just leave our bags and return later in the day to check in. The gentleman at reception said he would have a quick look to see if anything was ready - It was, so we checked in! The fire alarm went off so we had few minutes delay whilst this was sorted but all dealt with efficiently. When we went into our room it was set up as twin but we had booked a double. We we're running late so didn't have time to sort then and thought we would do it when we got back.

When we returned we told the receptionist who said she would get straight on it... A perfect excuse for a drink we thought whilst it was done. 30 minutes later we went upstairs but nothing had changed. We though it would probably get done whilst we were out for dinner but it didn't. We didn't bother bringing it up again and to be honest it didn't spoil our trip at all.

The staff we're very friendly and check out was very good.

I would stay again and recommend.

P.S The double doors on the room are a fantastic idea and cut all noise.

Excellent rooms- very good size. Nice public areas. Helpful staff. 2 minute walk to the nearest Metro station- the whole of Paris is easily accessible thereafter. Good breakfast. I did not use the spa facilities or the pool. The air conditioning units seem a bit dodgy on the whole though- I can't help wondering how they will cope in summer. I changed rooms initially thinking it was the unit in that particular room. the room i changed to was no better. On the whole, recommended.

Great location, close to the subway. Lot of restaurant around. Great Breakfast with a huge choices. Room was clean and neat. staff very helpful.
The restaurant menu should have more choices and a kid's menu.
I enjoy my stay, and definitely I will come back.
