Can't beat the location- Great Latin Quarter street- lots of restaurants- super close to Notre Dame. About 15 minute walk to the Louvre. Right next to the train stop from the airport (about a 60 min ride).
Had a room with Full size bed- it was small- which is very typical in Paris. Room had a semi-balcony (basically a little ledge with a rail) Very picturesque. You can see the whole street and night life below.
I did not find it noisy at all. Although, I did live in New York City for a number of year- so maybe I'm just used to it.
Room was very clean- bed was very comfortable
Guy checking in had a little bit of a stereotypical "French attitude" but the man that came on after him was very friendly and helpful. Both spoke excellent English.
Wifi signal was adequate- I did have to go down to the lobby to get a strong enough signal for a Skype call.
Price was expensive for one night but that's to be expected in Paris
One cons:
You have to leave your key with the front desk when you come and go from the hotel. This is a very very old fashion system. For the price you're paying, you should be given your own key to have when you're out and about in Paris.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary - and from the outset it was perfect in every way.
The staff were really helpful before we left, emailing responses to questions, and we were given a warm welcome on arrival. The corner room we were given (427) was gorgeous. It probably is bigger than the others but I'm certain all the rooms are just as immaculately clean and well presented. We were high enough to have excellent views of street life and the river Seine. Yes, as some reviews say, not a panoramic view - but it was lovely nevertheless and I'd rather have the street life and character of St Michel than be on the main road alongside the Seine.
Yes - noisy at night. I loved it! We deliberately kept our doors open so we could go to sleep listening to the buzz of St Michel at night. But actually if you close the doors and curtains - it's dark and silent so don't let that put you off if you need quiet to sleep.
The room has everything you need - a fridge, plenty of wardrobe and shelf space - no drawers but not a problem. The hairdryer in the bathroom was fab - wanted to bring it home! Plenty of plugs and side lights and the most wonderful soft beds in the world. Only slight niggle was the bathroom had lots of mirrors but there were none in the room - take a small makeup mirror if your partner hogs the bathroom in the morning!
Yes the lift is small - but 3 people fit easily and I've been in much smaller. More importantly it felt perfectly safe - but the stairs were fine if you don't fancy it.
Yes you need to leave your keycard at reception - but I've been in enough hotels where the fire alarm has gone off and no one would have been any the wiser if we were stuck in our room - at least they know who's there in an emergency. We never had to wait to get the key and the staff were always helpful. In fact all the staff were friendly and did everything they could to make our stay special.
Breakfast was continental - but you boil your own eggs and do your own toast, the coffee is divine, the cheese and breads lovely - really set us up for the day and we felt it was good value for the price. The young girl serving it was also friendly and helpful.
The location is fantastic - you can walk anywhere but the boat and bus shuttles also pass close by. Would recommend the Paris en Scene dinner cruise - the embarkation point is just across the river and its half the price of the others. Not gourmet food - but well prepared and tasty and you could easily wander out on deck to take photos etc. Price includes champagne.
There are supermarkets close - but for wine turn right onto la rue de la huchette then right again - there's a small wine shop on the right with sparkling wine / champagne in the fridge! The pizza place near there was also fantastic.
Taxi to the airport cost us 60 euros as it was rush hour. We used it because I hate the metro but if you're up for it the station is just across la rue de la huchette (sortie 6) and the jurney is straight through, very easy and only 9 euros each.
We will definitely return to l'albe when we go back to Paris - compared with even 5 star hotels this would still be my preference. Even the toilets in the public area were immaculate (surprisingly unusual in Paris - take wet wipes and hand gel!). It's clear the staff take a pride in their work and the hotel - their kindness and attentiveness made our wedding anniversary very special indeed and one we won't forget. I can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are bigger and balconies are lovely - sit out in the evening with a drink and enjoy the...

We have stayed here twice, and over the years the rate has increased, but, oh, the location!
Situated on a pedestrian street in St.Michel, the rue de La Harpe has plenty of eateries and the Metro is literally steps away with Notre Dame & the Seine around the corner. The rooms are clean, comfortable, soundproof and well appointed. Ask for a corner room and you can step out on the balcony and people watch to your heart's content!

Location cant be faulted and anyone who doesnt give it 5* isn't a tourist. My experience of service was also very good. The rest was average with small rooms, reasonably expensive, and rather boring decor and quality. However due to location I would recommend.

GREAT location right in the heart of the Latin Quarter...can't be beat!!! 5 min. walk to Notre Dame and just STEPS off St.Michel Square (facing fountain...look left) Added bonus: VERY close (less than 5 min. walking) to RER B to Charles De Gaulle airport which we took both ways and quite easily.
Staff: very pleasant, courteous and professional. While there is a breakfast buffet available, we enjoyed breakfast at our very favorite bakery: Boulangerie de Papa with their delicious baguettes and pastries...right next door!!
Room: clean, very comfortable and typical Paris sized...but big enough for the time we spent there. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!!

I was delighted with this hotel and it's location in the Latin Quarter. It is within walking distance of many great attractions and we even had a view of the Seine from our window. The window was double glazed so was very effective in cutting out noise from the streets below. Great selection of food for breakfast and the staff spoke English which was great.
The rooms were small but well appointed and the beds were very comfortable.
Highly recommended.
