The Albe is in an outstanding location to walk to Notre Dame, the. Louvre and the D'Orsay. Our room while small was very comfortable. The concierge was excellent in providing recommendations on where to eat. Morning breakfast was excellent with great choices. We will recommend this hotel to friends and we hope to come back.

This Hotel is very functional for tourism since it's close to Sorbona, Phantheon, Louvre, Orsay, Notre Dame and the Seine. Being in the middle of the Latin district it offer wide options to get food any hour of the day. The "noise" of the night life is very limited. I recommend this hotel for visitors coming to Paris via Air or Train, because parking in the area is quite expensive (35 EUR/day).

This hotel is perfectly located for many attractions especially Notre Dame. Access from airport is by RER straight to Saint Michel and then a one minute walk. Front desk staff are excellent and fluent in English. They are very friendly and helpful. We arrived mid morning after travelling 31hrs from Australia. Staff had our room ready for us 5mins after arriving and this was really appreciated. Rooms are clean but small as is everywhere in the Latin Quarter. Bed is comfortable and the room was well serviced daily. We will stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms are good as they are soundproof. The also have air-conditioning.'

We researched and researched hotels in Paris as well like many others since the choice seems endless, and finally booked Hotel Albe based on reviews and a friends recommendation from their stay a year earlier.

We stayed in room 211 which is a corner room with balcony from August 18-20, 2014. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Room is a bit small but as everyone says..."that's Paris!". Bathroom was clean but shower has no real shower curtain or door so floor does indeed get wet.

Great location and very helpful staff. Steps to the Seine, taxi stand, Notre Dame, restaurants, subway etc.

At night the bookshop across attracts some locals who sing and play music which can be a bit annoying but they usually leave by late evening.

Overall a good hotel and pleasant experience. Would recommend.

After hours of researching Paris locations and trawling through hundreds of hotels on TripAdvisor, we decided on The Albe hotel. We don't usually stay in hotels with less than 4 stars but because of the location and the 91% ratings on TripAdvisor we thought we'd risk it. The location really is perfect - in the hub of everything, cobbled streets, restaurants galore and less than 5 minutes walk to the Notre Dame. Most of the reviews on TripAdvisor recommended the 5th floor with a balcony. This is what we requested and this is what we got. However, our room was next to the elevator which was very noisy. The balcony was very narrow and waist level which was a bit unnerving being so high up. The room was very small and the hanging space in the wardrobe was tiny. There was nowhere to put our cases and we both felt claustrophobic. We had a large shower but I prefer a bath to relax in especially after a days sightseeing. We spoke to Veronique on reception about moving to a room with a bath. She spoke perfect English and bent over backwards to make sure we had a enjoyable experience at the hotel. We moved to room 430 which we were delighted with. It didn't have a balcony but the bedroom doors opened right up over railings which gave the same impression of having a balcony. It was a lovely sunny room and even had views of the river Seine. The wardrobe accommodated all our clothes and the bathroom was spacious in comparison to our other room. The shower over the bath was more powerful than the one we had before although the shower screen was very narrow so the bathroom floor got very wet.
The hotel is scrupulously clean and the daily maid service is very thorough.
There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but we found out on day 3 that you can ask at reception for a kettle, cups, saucers etc. There is a supermarket just across the road where you can buy bottled water, milk etc. We made the mistake of having several bottles of water from our minibar without checking the tariff. On checkout we were shocked to learn that a small bottle of mineral water was €3.25. A litre from the supermarket is €0.39!
Although this is nothing to do with reviewing the hotel, I'd like to warn people not to book taxi's. They put €6 on the clock for this privilege (and ours was 10 minutes late). Just across the road is a taxi rank with no shortage of taxi's and the standard charge is just €2.
We had a fantastic time and would definitely go back again.
A special thank you to Veronique for the friendly and attentive service.

We booked this hotel as part of a Eurostar package. The hotel is clean, in a great location for exploring Paris and staff very friendly and helpful. Down sides were the shower was not thermostatic so was either freezing or scalding and there was no tea / coffee in the room. Our room (209) was next to a side street where "entertainers" would play in the evening till around midnight. There was a chap playing an amplified mandolin which was ok to start with but as he seemed to only know one tune it became really annoying. This isn't the Hotels fault but expect some noise in this area.

So pleased that we chose to book this hotel. The location is great, as it is right in the heart of the Latin Quarter, surrounded by bars and traditional French restaurants. 2 minute walk away from the Notre Dame and the RER and metro station. Next door is an amazing boulangerie that sells crepes, waffles, baguettes, pastries and all sorts! Rooms really clean and modern and staff really helpful. From our room (644) we had a great view of the river. Rooms are small but this was no problem as they were so clean and modern. They were cleaned daily to a high standard. 24 hour reception and each time you leave the hotel you can leave your room key with the receptionist so that you know its safe (a nice tough). There is an option to have breakfast in the hotel at €13 a head each morning, and you can decide each morning whether you want this or not. We did not feel the need to do this as there is so much at hand nearby. Overall a really great stay, made even better by the high standards and great location of this hotel.
